WELCOME TO THE AGRIBUSINESS
October 2023 Newsletter WE ARE SO GLAD YOU ARE HERE! CENTER FOR AGRIBUSINESS SUCCESS!
Dr. Magnier Receives USDA Grant! We are pleased to announce that Dr. Alex Magnier, along with three of his colleagues at the University of Florida, have been awarded a USDA grant. They have received $240,000, which will be distributed among the four researchers over the next three years to work on Florida’s marketing programs. This initiative aims to support Florida’s agriculture by gaining a better understanding of how the program influences produce sales both within and outside the state. Given the competitive nature of the grant, with only 11% of applications funded this year, we would like to express our gratitude to the agricultural leaders who supported the application. Special thanks go to Jaime Weisinger of Lipman Family Farms, Steve Smith of the Gulf Citrus Growers Association, and Lindsay Harrington, the current Vice Chairman of the Center for Agribusiness Advisory Committee. For any questions regarding Dr. Magnier’s grant, please contact directly him at amagnier@fgcu.edu.
