Tuesday, July 11, 18, 25, August 8 & 15 - 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Ages 7-11
July 11 - Under the sea globe: Create your own piece of the sea by making a sea globe. We will also listen to a story about different sea life and go for a scavenger hunt inside the library.
July 18 - Looking through the porthole: Make a picture using a port hole as our canvas. As a group we will create our own adventure story as we use Under the Sea pictures. We will also listen to an under the sea themed book.
July 25 - Under the sea activity hour: Experience several Under the Sea activities such as fishing for sea creatures, bowling for an octopus, and, we will each be creating a jelly fish.
August 8 - Shiny foil fish: Listen to the book “Rainbow Fish” and create your own colourful shiny fish using cardstock, markers and tinfoil. We will also discover what whales sound like under the sea.
August 15 - Bubbly sea creatures: Discover some interesting facts about fish while we read a special book. We’ll then create a fun sea creature using soap bubbles to add colour and have a treasure hunt around the library.

Be part of the LEGO Club! Meet for a variety of fun LEGO building challenges. This week’s challenge is Build a Sea Creature. The children can take as long as they like and play with the large collection of LEGO in the library. A craft will follow.

July 5 - Paper Ring Octopus: Create your own octopus using construction paper. How many paper rings can you make? How long will the tentacles be?
July 6 - Deep Sea Discovery: Using a Ziploc bag, markers and, some black paper create your own deep-sea search and find.
July 12 - Paper Plate Sea Scene: Paint an ocean theme and create a sea creature to go with it!
July 13 - Anemone in a Cup: This creature unfurls under water. Read our book, then make your own moving deep-sea anemone.
July 15 - Create with Pixel Art: Create with Pixel Art by placing perler beads on pegboards creating different shapes such as sea animals or submarines!
July 22 - Painted Parrot: Every good pirate needs a parrot, but have you ever wondered how they choose? This fun book reading and craft will give you that answer, as well as a colourful friend of your own.
July 26 - Pipe Cleaner Anemone: Using a foam base and colored pipe cleaners, participants will create their own sea creature anemone before completing a sea-themed scavenger hunt in the library.
July 27 - Rainbow Fish: Bright and colourful, swimming through the sea! Discover our beautiful friend with this book reading and craft sure to make a splash!
August 3 - Flip Cup Shark: With a powerful leap sharks catch their prey. With this book reading and craft, we make a game for you to take home and play.
August 10: Paper Crab Roll: Small and red but sure to be a big hit, scuttle on in for a crab themed book reading and craft.
August 17 - Bearded Pirate: Listen up ye scallywags, Black Beard has lost his beard! Read about his adventures and help craft him a new beard.

August 1 - Mermaids: Make a beautiful mermaid using pipe cleaners and beads. Swim your way through a mermaid scavenger hunt.
August 3 - Playdough Sculpture: Make playdough then use it to sculpt a sandcastle.
August 4 - Corner Bookmark: Make your favorite animal into a bookmark using cardstock and origami folding.
August 5 - Fork Art: Use a fork to make a colourful under the sea picture.
August 8 - Floating Turtle: Learn how to make a floating turtle using recycled pop bottles and foam. Get snapping doing the scavenger hunt!
August 12 - Jellyfish: Learn about jellyfish with some fun mazes and crosswords. Create a bouncy jellyfish from a ball and paper.
