OUR OUR HISTORY HISTORY WHERE WE STARTED: • 2008-2013: A pioneering group of Latino corporate directors and leaders from the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility (HACR) come together to lay the foundation for what would become the Latino Corporate Directors Association (LCDA). The LCDA Board of Directors formally incorporates the association, appoints Dolores Kunda as the first part-time Executive Director, and establishes its foundation, the Latino Corporate Directors Education Foundation (LCDEF). A governance structure is put in place for both organizations. EXPANDING INFLUENCE: • 2016: LCDA appoints its first CEO to develop a comprehensive strategic framework and the LCDA Board Leaders Convening is launched, providing board-trending content by leading authorities, thought leadership to advance board diversity, and quality networking. •
2017: In partnership with its foundation, LCDA initiates a new Executive-level membership category welcoming C-level Latino executives to grow the pool of board-qualified candidates. In the same year, the LCDEF BoardReady Institute (BRI) is launched to prepare and position these board-aspiring directors for success in the boardroom.
GROWING PARTNERSHIPS: • 2016-2019: LCDA proudly recognizes its Founding Sponsors who helped the organization get its start. These companies include KPMG, Toyota, Target, Kaiser Permanente, Tyson Foods, Bank of America, and Exelon. Additional multi-year support is received from Corporate Creations, Korn Ferry, and Northern Trust. •
2017: The 2nd Annual LCDA Board Leaders Convening takes place, hosted by Time Warner; additional convenings occurred in 2018, hosted by Exelon; in 2019, hosted by Bank of America; in 2020 and 2021 (virtual), hosted by TPG; and in 2022, hosted by Morgan Stanley.
CONTINUED GROWTH: • 2016-2023: LCDA’s membership grows to 500+ leaders, LCDA staff and revenues grow 5-fold. • 2023: LCDA has influenced the pipeline of over 700+ board searches. The representation of U.S. Latinos on F1000 boards doubles. • 2023: LCDA, along with its foundation, announced the appointment of Ozzie Gromada Meza as its new President and CEO, ushering in a new era of transformation and This timeline highlights the key milestones and developments in the history of LCDA, from its inception to its growth and evolution as a prominent organization dedicated to advancing board diversity and empowering Latino leaders in corporate governance.

At the time of its inception, the conversations around diversity in corporate boardrooms often overlooked the inclusion of Latinos. However, Casiano and her peers understood that diversity was not just a matter of check marks, but also a business imperative. They recognized that having Latino representation in boardrooms would bring different perspectives, skills, and experiences that could lead to better performance and decision-making. She noted, “To truly have an impact, a message of merit had to be established as part of LCDA’s mission.” Adding, “It was important to highlight the many qualified Latinos who have a unique perspective to contribute to boardrooms.” Casiano emphasizes that LCDA’s initial approach was two-pronged. LCDA MEMBERS As a community and organization, we remain steadfast in championing parity between Latino representation in the boardroom and the growing U.S. Latino population, which represents nearly 1 in 5 Americans and accounts for over $3.2 trillion in GDP, making it the 5th largest economy in the world, if it were a stand-alone country. Our highly accomplished members are our greatest asset in this journey. Our membership is comprised of two vetted categories: Executive and Director memberships. Proven senior leaders who are ready for their first corporate board seat form the Executive membership, while corporate board directors who have been or are presently serving on a public or large private ($250mm+ rev.) corporate board comprise our Director membership. The 550+ names on the following pages provide a small snapshot of our member’s impact.
