Our History Where We Started: •

2008-2012: A pioneering group of Latino corporate directors and leaders, together with the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility (HACR, lay the foundation for what would become the Latino Corporate Directors Association (LCDA).

•

2013: LCDA welcomes a newly elected founding board, including today’s Chair, Elizabeth OliverFarrow. She, together with the board, mark a pivotal moment in LCDA’s history leading the organization’s transition from its roots in HACR to full independent status. The LCDA Board of Directors formally incorporates the association and appoints the board of the foundation, the Latino Corporate Directors Education Foundation (LCDEF).

•

2015: The LCDA board appoints Dolores Kunda as the first, part-time Executive Director and an operational structure is in place for both organizations.

Expanding Influence: •

2016: LCDA appoints its first CEO Esther Aguilera to develop a comprehensive strategic framework and the Annual LCDA Board Leaders Convening is launched, providing board-trending content by leading authorities, thought leadership to advance board diversity, and quality networking.

2017: In partnership with its foundation, LCDA initiates a new Executive-level membership category, to welcome C-level Latino executives, to grow the pool of board-qualified candidates. In the same year, the LCDEF BoardReady Institute (BRI) is launched to prepare and position these board-aspiring directors for success in the boardroom.

Growing Partnerships: •

2016-2019: LCDA proudly recognizes its Founding Sponsors who helped the organization get its start. These companies include KPMG, Toyota, Target, Kaiser Permanente, Tyson Foods, Bank of America, and Exelon. Additional multi-year support is received from Corporate Creations, Korn Ferry, and Northern Trust.

2017: The 2nd Annual LCDA Board Leaders Convening takes place, hosted by Time Warner; additional convenings occurred in 2018, hosted by Exelon; the 2019, hosted by Bank of America; 2020 and 2021 (virtual), hosted by TPG; and 2022, hosted by Morgan Stanley.

Continued Growth: •

2016-2023: LCDA’s membership grows to 500+ leaders, LCDA staff and revenues grow 5-fold.

2023: LCDA has influenced the pipeline of over 700+ board searches. The representation of US Latinos on F1000 boards doubles.

•

2023: LCDA, along with its foundation, announced the appointment of Ozzie Gromada Meza as its new President and CEO, ushering in a new era of transformation and progress for the organization.

Concurrent Session: SEC Rulemaking Implications in the Evolving Regulatory Landscape The Securi�es and Exchange Commission (SEC) is planning to implement more than 30 proposed rule changes in the fall of 2023 or spring of 2024. Climate change disclosures are at the forefront of the proposals, and, if adopted, will represent a significant change for public companies, as the proposal have extensive standardized requirements. In addi�on, new rules on cybersecurity, SPACs, and stock buybacks are taking shape, as the SEC moves to “update its ruleset to meet the challenges of a new hour, “ according to Chair, Gary Gensler.

For days on end. It’s no secret that the energy infrastructure responsible for genera�ng and distribu�ng electricity in our country is aging and becoming increasingly unstable. Major power outages are becoming more frequent–the 2021 outages in Texas le� millions of homes without power for days. The power grid, with parts long past their life expectancy, is also not designed to accommodate the increasing demands of electric vehicles or the growing amount of renewable energy, which requires a two-way flow of energy, back to the grid.

The grid is in transi�on and the shi� to clean energy is gathering momentum in response to federal and state policies. But there remain many challenges to upda�ng the grid and moving towards clean energy, especially in regions that are already struggling to maintain their exis�ng power grid.

Fireside Chat with Mark Templin, CEO, Toyota Financial Services A mainstay of the Annual Convening, this year’s Host Fireside Chat features Toyota Financial Services (TFS) CEO, Mark Templin, in conversa�on with Elizabeth OliverFarrow, LCDA Board Chair. Mark joined Toyota in 1990 and in 2013, he became the EVP of Lexus Interna�onal, becoming the first non-Japanese execu�ve to oversee an opera�onal division within the company’s global HQ in Japan. Since 2018, he’s led TFS, one of the na�on’s largest and highest rated cap�ve finance companies, with more than four million ac�ve finance accounts and over ten million insurance agreements in force. Employing over 3,700 people across the country, the company’s current managed assets exceed $135 billion. Registration and badge pick up is located in the Toyota HQ Registration and badge pick up hours: • Thursday, November 2, 7:00 am – 5:00 pm • Friday, November 3, 7:00 am – 1:00 pm You are required to wear your LCDA/Toyota badge at all times while at Toyota North America. It acts as your security badge.

Do not forget to bring it with you on both Thursday and Friday.

Parking at Convening Hotel and Corporate Visionary Award Dinner & Reception (Thursday)

Renaissance Hotel Parking onsite is $22 daily; parking garage is attached to hotel lobby level; Valet parking is $31 each day.

Coat/Luggage Check

There will be no coat check available at Toyota North America.

For security purposes, LCDA recommends you check your luggage with your hotel before departing to events.

If you must bring your luggage to Toyota North America due to flight schedules, LCDA and Toyota North America are not responsible.

Food & Beverage Provided

For Convening (Thursday/Friday): In the Sequoia Foyer at the Toyota HQ, a buffet breakfast will be provided on both days of convening from 7:30 - 8:30 am. Breakfast can be enjoyed in the Sequoia Room. A lunch buffet is served both days in the Sequoia Foyer and can be enjoyed during the Luncheon Sessions in the Sequoia Room.

For Awards Ceremony (Thursday evening): Dinner will be served for all attendees along with beverage service.

Coffee and water will be available the entire day at Toyota North America HQ.

Personal Calls/Meetings

If you need to take a personal meeting or call at the Toyota HQ, you can use the small telephone rooms designated for private calls, if one is available. Ask a staff member, and they will guide you to an available room.
