No toboggans or snowboards are allowed on the hill. No sleds are permitted down the rear of the hill. Take care to begin using the hill only after other sledders have cleared away from the bottom of the hill. When will the Ice Rink be open?
Weather is the most important issue when building an ice rink. Ideal conditions for an ice rink would be snow. Three inches of good solid ice is ideal for skating. Snow can act as an insulator, preventing thinner layers of ice from getting thicker during overnight cold temperatures. Ice must be thick enough for staff maintenance, including brushing and clearing of snow, as well as a light application of water to keep the rink smooth. Due to COVID-19, we ask that all patrons using the Artesian Field House as a warming area follow all COVID-19 guidelines with capacity, social distancing and facemasks must be worn at all times. Signage is posted outside and inside the building. Our goal is to provide a safe and fun skating environment, with a little help from Mother Nature. We appreciate your patience with our staff and our winter weather!
