Youth Basketball

2022-2023 Youth Basketball Programs

For the 2022-2023 season we will be running a combined basketball program with players from the Lake Forest Recreation Department. Games and practices will rotate between Lake Bluff and Lake Forest. This will allow us to expand our leagues into age groups for which we traditionally have lacked the enrollment to run a successful program.

Volunteer Coaches

Boys First & Second Grade League

This program has been designed to give players their first opportunity to play basketball where the emphasis will be on skill development, teamwork and sportsmanship. The fundamental skills of passing, dribbling, shooting and basic game strategies are reviewed in a safe non-competitive environment. Teams will have a one hour practice and a one hour game each week at one of the times listed. Practice and game times and locations will rotate each week. Uniforms will be provided and must be worn to all sessions.

These programs are designed as semi-competitive recreational house leagues. Basic skills will be reviewed and more advanced game strategies will be introduced. Preschool Basketball (3-5 years of age)

A great introduction to the game of basketball, where kids learn basic basketball skills like dribbling and shooting, but the main focus is getting them acclimated to working in a team setting with others. Our program uses age appropriate equipment, skill-based activities and modified rules to help children be successful and develop properly. All youth participants will receive a league uniform.
