Green Furniture Concept is a socially responsible company with facilities in Europe and North America, creating unique public spaces with flexible and functional designs that use local materials and manufacturing.

Summary The Nova C Bench Series was developed by Green Furniture Concept in cooperation with Jernhusen; the corporation that owns and operates 55 train stations along the Swedish State Railway System and their architectural firm WESTER + ELSNER. The project’s focus was to develop an eye-catching seating system that would meet stringent demands of functionality and traffic management. Today, the Nova C Series wooden benches have evolved into a full range of benches for indoor public spaces.

The Nova C Series is a seamless modular benching system offering the market a new and different type of public seating. Manufactured with 100% commitment to environmental sustainability, it allows designers to create a continuous pattern, maximizing the use of space at a reduced cost per seat.

Designer “As a kid in the early 1980s, I used to run around in Daddy Pierre’s furniture factory. It must have been there that my love of furniture began. I went on to get my education as an Industrial Designer and eventually started my own furniture and industrial design company, Berhin Studios.

For the longest time, I had a dream about a naturally curving chair, made out of one piece of wood. One day that dream took shape. I cut a template out of a piece of wood and my chair the “One C” was born! “C” stands for Chair and One C for a chair in one piece. Many new ideas sprung from the One C design concept. Eventually, I decided to slice the chair in several segments and that is how the Nova C bench series was born.”

The Nova C benches are offered either curved or straight. Each section of the bench is 1 meter long (approx. 40�) and designed to seat 2 adults.

The modules are connected to each other by robust snap fittings on the inside of the wider ribs, not visible to the user, but easily accessible for maintenance and re-configuration.

The metal parts of the benches are made of recycled steel and are offered with a standard matte black powder coat.

The ribs are available in Maple or Oak veneers with the official Green Furniture Concept Natural Wax Finish. Benches can be ordered in Natural, Latte, Caramel, Mahogany or Espresso finishes. We also offer a mixed color option. Custom colors are available upon request.

Maintenance The Nova C benches are designed with efficient maintenance in mind.

Touching up a surface scratch is as simple as polishing a shoe. Simply wipe the scuff with our odorless Hard-wax Oil and allow it to set overnight.

For larger repairs, it is also possible to quickly replace a rib.

With low maintenance costs and easy care procedures, this product maintains its new appearance even in the heaviest traffic environments.

When creating a model we strive to use recycled, biodegradable, renewable materials always trying to use as few components as possible.

Our products are repairable (scratches disappear by rubbing natural wax on them) and have changeable parts.

Recycled Products

We strive only to use natural materials that can return to nature, and technical materials (recycled plastics and metals) that are reused and can be reused again and made into new products.

Replanting Trees

For each piece of furniture we sell, we plant one furniturequality Birch in the vicinity of our local production site in northern Sk책ne, Sweden.

With production facilities located in Europe and North America we strive to be near our clients and end-users, thus minimizing transportation volume, weight.
