$24 Million

2024

Project Features: Arlington ISD engaged LBL in 2018 to perform some much-needed renovations and updates to the aging interior of Bailey Junior High. Those renovations included student restrooms for ADA compliance, a girls’ locker room, electrical and HVAC infrastructure replacements, and library and office renovations. Site improvements included expanding the drop-off lane and visitor parking, refurbishing the staff parking lot, and landscaping improvements to address drainage and curb appeal. Later, the building needed a complete re-roof and the replacement of numerous windows for waterproofing and energy efficiency. Thanks to LBL’s proven track record of timeliness and excellence on the previous Bailey improvements, as well as other AISD projects, the district chose LBL to perform the third phase, a $23 Million addition and renovation that included a 40,000 SF classroom addition with collaboration space, 10,000 SF expansion and renovation of the kitchen and Cafeteria kitchen, a new secure entry and covered drop off-pick up. New Construction

$31 Million

60,000 SF

2024

Project Features: Throckmorton CISD selected LBL Architects to assist with Bond Planning services and then for full architectural and engineering services. Throckmorton posted and passed a $30M bond, taking advantage of increased property value from a local wind farm to update and improve its facilities to attract students to the district and provide new programs to equip students with valuable skills. The wind farms provided nearly 70% of the funds for the project. The proposed 60,000 SF K-12 School building is designed to also support the Montessori teaching method and provides an ICC-500-compliant tornado storm shelter, media center, cafetorium and commercial kitchen, competition gym with a separate lobby with concessions, theater and fine arts spaces, Maker Space and CTE classrooms supporting HVAC technician, drone pilot, nursing, culinary, and STEM programs. The district is experiencing closeout difficulties with the contractor, and the LBL team, including President, Tom McCarty, is assisting district leadership in navigating the conflict.

2010

Project Features: MH Moore Elementary School was slated for an expansion to provide more primary age classrooms. After visiting the School during the Pre Design Phase we recognized that many of the specialty rooms like Art and Music were simply old classrooms. Additionally the principal informed us that access to the outdoor gymnasium required the crossing of a drainage flume by the children. As a result we designed a “ specialty wing” at the far west of the main school building. This specialty wing also included a linking corridor so children could get to the gym without going outside. This linking corridor also served as a staging location for children as they waited for parents or the bus to pick them up at the new drop off lane.

PROJECT TYPE

Renovation

$1.1 Million

2,900 SF

2026

Project Features: The Arlington ISD Center for Family and Community Engagement (CFACE), underwent a renovation transforming an existing space into a modern multimedia studio designed for film and communications. Originally constructed as a grocery store, the space required extensive acoustic design to function as a “dead room.” Sound attenuation strategies included full-height sound walls extending to the deck, acoustical wall panels, a dedicated rooftop unit serving only the studio and adjacent hallway, and sound-blocking doors to isolate the space. The studio features a sound room, dressing area, storage, and flexible space designed to accommodate large production sets. Integrated green and blue walls support a variety of filming needs, creating a professionalgrade environment intended for districtwide media production rather than traditional classroom use. Enhancements include secure perimeter fencing, parking lot maintenance, and front office upgrades such as a new reception desk, updated finishes, improved wayfinding, new signage, new carpet and a recessed fire alarm panel. 2015

Project Features: UNT’s International (UNTI) Department was segregated in several different buildings and this project brought all the Administrative, Academic and Student Support services for UNTI into one building. The building was originally constructed as the first Women’s dorm on campus in 1934 and has historical properties that the University wanted to remain, while converting the building from outdated office spaces and dorm rooms which were converted to classroom spaces. The entire building infrastructure was changed out with this project, which included new air handler in basement, all new chilled waterlines, ductwork, and controls. The building was equipped with fire sprinkler system, new fire alarm system, and emergency generator. The increased load of the building required a new panels, transformer and gas service. Increased energy efficiency of building was accomplished by LED lighting, added spray on roof insulation, and effective building controls. The interior was completely renovated with new terrazzo flooring featuring designs inspired by the building's history.
