Covered Bridge Potato Chips are pleased to announce the release of their latest product, Lela’s Chickpea Chips, due to land on Canadian shelves in early September.

Aflavourful yet healthier alternative to nachos and other regular potato chips, these chickpea chips are lightweight but packed with protein, made for eating out of the bag or paired with dips, salsas, hummus and more.

Run by the Albright family out of Waterville, New Brunswick, Covered Bridge has worked its way to becoming a Canadian household name with its lines of kettle cooked popcorn and chips, made from dark russet potatoes grown right on Albright Farms. Lela’s Chickpea Chips are named after the family’s Great Grammy Lela, who first began making wood-fired chips and other treats over her pot belly stove over 80 years ago. These will be the first in a dedicated line of Lela’s Homegrown Snacks.

The family hopes Canadians not only enjoy the new chips but also feel a relatable connection or sense of nostalgia as if they were eating something as cooked with love as what their own beloved relatives would have made.
