STREET MAP UK AN ALTERNATIVE TO GOOGLE MAPS Street Maps is so detailed because of the comprehensive community worldwide. Two incidences have proven that Street Maps may be better than Google Maps (The island of Haiti earthquake incident and the Nepal earthquake incident). In both incidents, volunteers mapped the entire place with the help of satellite imagery to coordinate with relief work. The astounding rate at which they could do this was only possible because of the open-source code.

In rural areas also, Street Maps gives a better experience because of its community. Because of its open-source nature, anybody can update its system. So, sometimes people may purposely change the data. But because of its strong community, people update the pertinent information back in no time.
