Uniform Guidance and Information
JUMPERS
Pupils from First Form to Fifth Form may only wear the School regulation navy jumper, purchased through Schoolblazer. Sixth Formers may purchase a v-neck jumper, either long-sleeved or sleeveless, from any supplier as long as it is a plain knit and with no obvious logo or branding. Permitted colours are navy or light pastel blue, maroon or light pastel pink, and dark or light grey as indicated in the guide chart. Other colourways, cardigans or any other style such as crew or scoop neck are not permitted. For boarders, the jumpers must be machine washable and tumble driable.
SMART CHANGE
Smart change may be worn to performances in the Stahl Theatre, concerts and such like on occasions when announced. Smart change consists of either a modest dress/ skirt/trousers with a smart top/jacket or a shirt, tie, jacket and trousers. All should be of sober colour. Shoes should be leather not canvas or trainers. Jeans and leather garments are not permitted. Only one set of smart change need be brought to School. All items must be named.
CASUAL WEAR
Please note there is limited storage in Houses and therefore casual clothing brought to School must not be excessive. Casual wear may be worn after lessons, at the HSM’s discretion. Casual wear may be worn on Saturdays after sport and on Sundays after morning Chapel. It may be appropriate on other occasions, with the permission of the HSM. A certain decorum should be observed in the choice of casual wear. It should not be calculated to shock, or be scruffy or dirty. Casual wear that is deemed to be unsuitable will be confiscated. Any item that is not machine washable and tumble dryable will not be accepted in boarding Houses. All items should be named; any unnamed items may be named by Matron at a cost.
FORMAL DRESS
Formal dress is worn in Chapel on Sunday, on journeys for interviews and by parties leaving Oundle, unless special instructions have been given to the contrary. Coats should not be worn to Chapel. Culotte Uniform: Formal dress consists of the School navy jacket (either crested or Sixth Form style depending on year group), navy striped culottes and white regulation shirt. Trouser Uniform: Formal dress consists of either the School navy blazer and grey trousers or a smart suit which is dark in colour. Either option should be paired with a white shirt, School or House tie and smart black leather shoes. Suede shoes are not acceptable.
INDIVIDUAL SPORTS, FIRST TEAM AND TOUR WEAR
In addition to the curriculum sports kit, pupils may require other items of kit or equipment for various sports as they progress through the School, including First Team or Tour Wear. These items can generally be purchased from Schoolblazer online and details of what to buy and when will be given at the time by the relevant Head of Sport. If you are in doubt about whether an item is needed or not, it is better to wait and buy later. A bag for sports kit is essential and an Oundle School Duffle Bag is available through Schoolblazer. All bags should be labelled clearly on the outside.
GUM SHIELDS
All pupils must have a gum shield. OPRO offer either a home impression kit service which can be ordered at any stage, or a full, on site made to measure service in the first weeks of the Michaelmas Term.
CCF CLOTHING
CCF clothing is not needed until the Fourth Form and is provided by the Armoury.
