Celebrating 175 Years For the past 175, years each generation of Lawrence students has benefited from the generosity of alumni, parents, and friends. JONATHAN BASS ’24 WASHINGTON ISLAND, WI

“Ever since I first went to music camp at age 13, I’ve known I want to spend my life playing piano. At Lawrence, I have more opportunities to do so than I could have ever dreamed of. So far, I’ve taken both jazz and classical lessons, placed in piano competitions, performed as a member of multiple chamber groups, performed with a jazz combo, sang in and accompanied choirs, and been involved in an opera production. The liberal arts emphasis at Lawrence makes it the perfect fit for me, as I am as interested in being an insightful, well-rounded thinker. I am very grateful for the incredible generosity of donors, who have given me access to such an amazing education.”
