LMH Health CEO pledges gift to Help & Healing endowed fund At LMH Health Foundation’s 50th Anniversary Celebration in June, LMH Health President and CEO Russ Johnson announced that he and his wife, Isabel, have pledged a $50,000 gift to the Help & Healing endowed fund.

The Help & Healing Fund helps patients in need with expenses for medications, medical equipment or other necessities for healing and recovery after a hospital stay. This financial assistance helps people take back control of their own health and keeps them out of a crisis situation. A message from Russ Johnson On behalf of LMH Health and the LMH Health Foundation, thank you for supporting your community hospital. There is no question that you have made LMH Health the exceptional hospital it has become.

You might have seen the recent newspaper article addressing the downturn in hospital operating revenue and margin this year. Such an article can be concerning, but I want to assure you that we have already responded with strategies to deal with the changing healthcare landscape.

First, I want to emphasize that a number of factors that are common to nearly every hospital are at play. These are challenging times for healthcare providers and we’re not insulated from that.

Second, I want to stress that we have long-term and immediate strategies that are addressing these factors.

We are committed to ensuring that LMH Health remain an independent, community-owned and operated not-for-profit hospital, serving all who come to us, regardless of ability to pay. LMH Health has relationships with all the larger healthcare systems in the region — but no plans to enter into an equity or governance partnership with any. That doesn’t mean we won’t consider a strategic, clinical partnership — one that supports our clinicians in providing great care for their patients. This would only take place if hospital leadership and the Trustees feel it will strengthen LMH Health.

The future of healthcare in Douglas County is bright, and it will continue to evolve. Thank you for your vote of confidence in the work we do every day.

Erica Hill named to 40 under 40 list Erica Hill, finance and operations manager for LMH Health Foundation and LMH Health equity advocate, has been recognized Erica Hill in the 2019 Association for Healthcare Philanthropy 40 Under 40 List. She is the sole honoree from Kansas. AHP is an international professional organization dedicated to development professionals who encourage charity in healthcare organizations. AHP’s 4,300 members represent more than 2,200 healthcare facilities around the world.

Hill has served in many roles during her six years at LMH Health.

In addition to overseeing finance and operations for LMH Health Foundation, she has also played vital roles in strategic initiatives, including the hospital’s work in health equity.
