3coil it
into a mat
1. Start coiling polypropylene utility cord as tightly as possible, hot-gluing the rope to itself and sticking strips of heavy-duty white duct tape underneath as you go. 2. Once you’ve coiled the rope so the mat is about 13 inches in diameter, cut the rope, then melt the end with a match or a lighter so it doesn’t unravel, and secure it with hot glue. 3. Following the instructions in step 1, use a new color of rope to continue the coil until the mat is 19 inches in diameter. Finish the rope’s end as described in step 2. Then continue the coil with the frst color of rope until the mat is 24 inches in diameter. Finish the rope’s end. 4. Trim any excess duct tape.
