All four Île-Perrot municipalities join forces for new arena project

L’Île-Perrot, Notre-Dame-de-l’îlePerrot (NDIP), Pincourt, and TerrasseVaudreuil have teamed up and jointly applied for grants from the federal and provincial governments to build a new hockey arena that will be located in Pincourt, just metres away from the previous arena project that has sat vacant for roughly 20 years.
The news was announced in a joint press release that was issued by all four %= !+ Pincourt Mayor Yvan Cardinal said the island’s mayors are all united in their desire to have a dedicated arena to serve the needs of all Île-Perrot residents. The mayor reiterated the new tworink facility will not be exclusively for hockey – people who enjoy other ice sports will also be able to use the new facility. The arena will also allow students from École secondaire du ChêneBleu who are enrolled in its hockey program – adjacent to the proposed arena on Pincourt Boulevard – to use the facility, he said.

L’Île-Perrot Mayor Pierre Séguin said a project to build an arena on the island has been desired for many years. “This is an important infrastructure that will %0 island, both in terms of sports and leisure,” said Séguin.

They have plans for the near future to grow into the property next door, including possibly adding a ring and some more indoor space for the human caregivers, which will mean they can help even more horses down the road.
