(nee Clark) 1937 - 2018 Born in Wilmot Valley (Summerside), PEI, Dorothy passed peacefully at the family residence in Hudson, Quebec on November 30, 2018 in her 81st year. Following graduation from the Summerside School of Nursing, Dorothy held positions in Moosejaw, Saskatchewan, Winnipeg, Manitoba and the Canadian Naval hospital in Halifax. While in Halifax, she met her husband Alan aboard the HMCS Bonaventure. The family moved to Montreal and after raising her four children, Dorothy resumed her nursing career, retiring in 1995 from the Lakeshore General Hospital. Sadly, she was predeceased by her son Andrew in 1999 and her sister Gwendolyn earlier this year. An avid gardener, Dorothy spent her life making the lives of people around her better. She lived a full life and was very involved and supportive of her children’s lives, their work and activities. Always an active listener, Dorothy had a very big heart and helped many in need. Dorothy will be greatly missed for her attention to detail, compassion, good humor and generosity by her husband Alan and her children Susan, Patricia (Wayne) and Don (Cathleen), her grandchildren Mallory Roy, Delphine Roy, Graeme Brown, Katie Brown, Hayley McIntosh and Rhys McIntosh, her siblings Helen Smallman (George), Maurice Clark (Collette), Liz Tanchak (Johnny dec.), as well as her in-laws Jan Goodall (Harry dec.), Anne McIntosh, Hamish McIntosh, along with her nephews, nieces and many friends. At Dorothy’s request there will be no service. A private family internment at the Cote-St-Charles United Church will take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy the family would respectfully ask that donations be made to NOVA Hudson or to the Pancreatic Cancer Canada Foundation.
