ELI LILLY PHARMACEUTICAL MANUFACTURING CAMPUS
CONCORD, NC
LandDesign | 2021-2024
Ground Breaking: 2022, Estimated Completion: 2025
Eli Lilly located its second North Carolina facility on approximately 400 acres in Concord, NC. The campus is set back from the neighboring highway with grass covered earthen mounds in an effort to blend into the surrounding grassland/farmland. The nearly 800,000 sf building is tucked between existing wetlands, streams, and stands of trees to minimize impact to the remaining acreage and provide space for natural trails and paths.

PERSPECTIVE VIGNETTES
Key model views were created to include in the initial drawing submittal.

OCTOBER 2024 CONSTRUCTION VISIT
GRIFFITH LAKES
CHARLOTTE, NC
LandDesign | 2020
Status: Initial phases of construction
Griffith Lakes is a residential community designed to protect and celebrate the existing lakes, trails, and forests of the site. By carefully setting aside buffers of forest around the lakes and waterways, all residents will have shared access to the scenic water views and kayak launches. With enclaves of homes set aside for age-targeted development, the amenity center was designed with a focus on providing amenities that cater to these demographics.

AMENITY CONCEPT
The amenity center was placed at the core of the development overlooking Griffith Lake.

THE EXCHANGE AT INDIAN LAND
INDIAN LAND, SC
LandDesign | 2020-2024
Status: Initial phases of construction.
The Exchange at Indian Land is a mixed-use development along the growing Highway 521 corridor in Lancaster, South Carolina. The master plan process began with a detailed rezoning and development agreement to allow for the intended mix of uses. We worked closely with Lancaster planning staff from rezoning to design to ensure the plan balanced the needs of the county, nearby residents, and developer team.

AMENITY PLAN
In response to a request from Lancaster County, we developed an early “amenity plan” showing the developer’s intentions to provide community amenities beyond ordinance requirements.

INMAN QUARTER REDEVELOPMENT
ATLANTA, GA
LandDesign | 2019
Status: Design Concept
As combined design effort from 505 Design and LandDesign, we were tasked with revitalizing the existing underutilized Inman Quarter courtyard. By introducing vibrancy, programming, and community focused spaces, we created a courtyard space that residents and visitors can claim as their own.

AMERICAN TOBACCO CAMPUS EXPANSION
DURHAM, NC
LandDesign | 2020 - 2021
Status: Design Concept
Working closely with our clients and various other consultants, we helped plan for the future build out of the American Tobacco campus. This mixed-use plan was focused on building a vibrant destination for visitors and a sense of place for residents.

LAF FELLOWSHIP FOR INNOVATION AND LEADERSHIP
RETHINKING WASTESCAPES
LAF | 2018-2019
During my year-long fellowship, I continued to study coal ash ponds and potential remediation strategiesa topic I became fascinated with as a student at Virginia Tech. The goal of my work was to spark change and transformation, which began with a presentation stating the dangers of these coal ash ponds and proposed remediation strategies. The second component of my work involved a trip to the Ruhr region of Germany. By studying the remediation of similarly disturbed sites, I was able to document the strategies they used to transform the wastescapes into valued public spaces.

PROPOSED REMEDIATION STRATEGIES
An exploration of potential coal ash pond closure strategies to create value for surrounding communities.
RETHINKING WASTESCAPES
Post fellowship, I documented my work with LAF and incorporated detailed studies of the reclaimed sites I visited during my studies abroad.
