This collection traces the magnolia’s quiet alchemy from June to August; when pristine ivory blossoms and glossy emerald leaves give way to heavy branches, curling edges, and waxy red seeds dropping like confetti. Magnolia VI is a celebration of transformation, delighting in the poetry of change.
The process unfolded slowly, sometimes with lingering attention, sometimes with quick and surprising shifts in style, scale, and materials. The freedom I felt between study and spontaneity brought unexpected discoveries. To me, that’s what makes this collection so successful: seeing the artist’s point of view woven through both discipline and play. The viewer can feel the rhythm, lingering, then leaping from piece to piece.
Magnolia VI is a meditation on summer itself; its languid afternoons, its surprising turns, its fleeting magic that slips through your fingers.

Laurel-Dawn graduated from Auburn University with a BFA in graphic design with a strong focus in fine art and art history. She has been working in the design field for over 10 years and painting in the margins of her chaotic and beautiful life as a wife and mother. In 2020, Laurel-Dawn took the leap into being a fine artist, full time.
Laurel-Dawn has always drawn inspiration from the lines made from her Creator; the natural lines of a rigid mountainside, or the dramatic curves seen in leaves and flower petals. She strives to glorify beauty that already exists from her small corner of the world; embracing the delicate, yet messy process of being an artist.
Laurel-Dawn currently resides in Homewood, Alabama with her husband and two boys.
