This book contains a selection of cats that went missing during the past year in the city of Amsterdam.
Most of the time when a cat doesn’t return within a few days, these calls for attention become detached from their function. They still exist but will no longer fulfil their purpose. The cat probably will not return. The posters in the street and advertisements on Internet become memories of a cat and their time with a certain family, witnesses, of love for a cat, in image and text. These are eternalized in this book. The information intended to be useful, stripped from this purpose, is represented in a way that focuses on its beauty, heartache and honesty. Giving them a new purpose as a tribute in poems and portraits.
