First of all, major apologies for the lateness of this issue. I thought that - having managed to produce five issues over the last couple of years from Cape Town with all its electricity problems - producing just one issue from France would be simple. We were on a campsite in the Vendée, that had no consistent internet access - so I missed over a week of work on the issue. I got to serious work after I returned. The September issue will not suffer from the same problems.

The front cover features a photo by Wendy Foster of Celebration Cupcakes at the Family Day at the Sports and Social that marked the 50th Anniversary of the Hall building. There are more photos on the centre spread.

On page15 there is a letter from Launton Lines' founding Chair, Pat Tucker, in response to the “Junk Mail” issue - some interesting background. We also have a review of the Village Players’ Summer Show on pages 24-27, and news (pages 28-9) of the next FoLPH event - an intriguing Monopoly-style game around Launton. There is also news of a public consultation over allowing cycling on Sheep Street - currently a pedestrian street - on page 32. Please support our advertisers: we need them to keep Launton Lines going.
