The August 2020 issue of the newsletter from the Oxfordshire village of Launton, published in print and distributed to every household in the village, and online through issuu.com. This 44-page issue contains much on the very disruptive work of the East West Rail Alliance (EWRA) building the new Oxford-Cambridge railway running through the village. This month's problem has been the closure of the main road into the village for three days with no public notice, no proper warning displays, and no signed diversion. Our County Councillor said “EWR are behaving in a chaotic and completely unacceptable way”. The village agrees.
We also have news and the cover photo of the first public event since lockdown, an outdoor cake sale that raised over £400. There is also the regular Parish Council report, the 79th contribution from Tony Jeacock "The Ex-Launton Boy", the first of a series of articles on how local businesses have responded to Covid 19, and the regular quarterly report from our MP, Victoria Prentis.
