The August 2021 issue of the newsletter from the Oxfordshire village of Launton is published in print and distributed to every village household, and online through issuu.com. The cover shows a heron perching in a tree at the back of Chestnut Close. This 250th issue of the newsletter, first produced in August 1995 as a 16-page one colour quarterly, pays due to all who have supported it over 26 years. This issue has a PHIP update on the Parish Hall (pages 10-11), a report from Mulberry Homes about their development on Blackthorn Road (page 5) and info and photos on the PHIP Bake Sale (pages 16-17). The Community Cafe reopens in September and is recruiting a Support Worker (page 30), Greta Walker concludes her memories of people from Launton’s past 55 years (pages 31-4), Danny Cunningham writes on Covid anti-vaxxers (pages 35-7), and The Ex-Launton Boy writes about the members of the 1958 village football team (pages 38-41). And there is news of a new bus service to start at the end of the month (pages 26-7).
