SPORTS SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS (16
All candidates must first satisfy the academic requirements for entry to the School.
Sports scholarships are awarded to those athletes who will make a significant contribution to the sporting success of the School. The award includes support for the student’s training, both in terms of their physical programme plus advice around the science of training at an elite level. The award includes a fee remission.
Sports scholarship award applications should be made in the Autumn term of Year 11. Interviews will take place towards the end of November and are made upon the recommendation of the Director of Sport. Sports scholarship awards are usually renewable for the second year of Sixth Form subject to satisfactory academic progress and conduct, and provided the recipient remains actively engaged in Latymer Sport.
Criteria for the Sports Scholarship at 16+ are:
A high level of representation (at least County level or higher) in a major sport at which Latymer Upper School is represented The ability to perform a second Latymer sport to a high level Proven leadership qualities An excellent record of commitment and sportsmanship
