Opening Doors for the Next Generation
For more than 400 years, Latymerians have helped create opportunities for the generations that follow. A gift in your will can help ensure talented young people of all backgrounds continue to

“Latymer taught me to think outside the box and put myself out there.”
Miku, Class of 2025 Bursary Recipient
This autumn, Miku will begin studying Architecture at UCL. Before that, she is completing a highly competitive traineeship, spending four days a week in an architecture practice and exploring careers across the Built Environment sector.
For Miku, the confidence to pursue opportunities like these began at Latymer:
“What I loved about Latymer was how much they pushed you to try new things, in and out of lessons. It was really a confidence boosting thing, learning that you don’t need to be afraid to put yourself out there. The school nurtures you to be able to go off on your own and provides you with really strong foundations so that you can branch off from the obvious path and pursue what you really want to do. I don’t think I would have had that at another school. "
Today, Miku is building on those foundations as she prepares for her future at university and beyond.
For Latymerians like Miku, a bursary is more than financial support. It opens the door to an exceptional education and the opportunities that help young people discover their potential and shape their future.
228 Years of Free Education
That is the collective legacy of the gifts left in wills to Latymer so far. From a 1% share of an estate to a fixed sum, every single gift creates a transformative future for a Latymerian like Miku.

“Just to help one student get the same sort of experience that I had. That's what it's all about.”
Robert,
Class of 1968
1624 Society Member
“I returned to Latymer for the first time since I left in 2024. I was looking at so much that was very different, but so much that was the same. It still felt just like home. It was this incredible sense of continuity with change.
What was important to me is that as well as being highly academic, Latymer has always understood that the real measure of a school isn't exam results. The real measure is the breadth and quality of education. It's the experience. It's the learning.
It’s what the School is still doing today with their plan to strip back GCSEs and encourage their students to spread their studies wider before they hit Sixth Form. To me, that is the sort of innovation that is important, that needs to be supported.
The pure love of learning has stayed with me since leaving Latymer, but so has something more social: not being afraid to speak to anyone of any background. You never knew who you were talking to at Latymer and it never seemed to matter. You didn't make distinctions.
What I keep coming back to is this inclusivity. I went to Latymer as a direct grant pupil, but that scheme is no longer available. But Latymer does offer bursaries to young people who wouldn't otherwise be able to afford to go to the school. That meant a lot me.
Just to help at least one student get the same sort of experience that I had. That's what it's all about. If you're considering leaving a gift to Latymer, think about your own experiences. Would you want others to share them?”
