Heart of Sailing Founded in 2004 by lifelong sailor George Saidah, Heart of Sailing is a non-profit organization that introduces sailing for free to individuals with developmental disabilities, such as autism, CP or Down syndrome, as a form of educational and recreational therapy. Marine Weather Level 1 is an entry-level course for attendees with little or no marine weather background. The course covers an introduction to weather maps, definitions, surface weather systems, wind and wave charts, tropical cyclone avoidance, navigating around weather, and communications.
