In this month's August cover of Latino Lubbock Magazine (LLM), we showcase the artwork by Ernesto Yerena Montejano whose art is fueled by his cross-cultural upbringing. I believe that he is the artist of our time. His art practice reflects his observations of the views and interactions between the Mexican communities living on both sides of the U.S. and Mexico. Yerena's work combines his mastery of stenciling and airbrushing. This picture reminds us to be engaged in our community through health, education, and support for young people. And now more than ever, as we navigate through this pandemic we must be invested, and recognize that knowledge truly is power! Do it with desire! ¡Hazlo con ganas!
The August issue of Latino Lubbock Magazine features info about back to school, voter registration, tips to prevent and overcome the COVID-15, COVID-19 testing expansions, an op-ed by the new president of the Texas State Teachers Association, P-EBT details, Purple Heart Day info, memorials and lots of information h
