LETTER FROM CEO AND BOARD PRESIDENT Dear LCFC Family, As we reflect on 2025, we do so with a deep sense of gratitude, pride, and optimism.

This year tested our communities and the nonprofit sector in unprecedented ways. Shifting policies, funding uncertainty, and growing demands challenged organizations across Colorado.

Yet time and again, we witnessed the resilience of community leaders who refused to let uncertainty define the future. At the Latino Community Foundation of Colorado (LCFC) we faced those challenges as an opportunity to lead with purpose, strengthen partnerships, and invest in the people and organizations working every day to build a stronger Colorado.

Throughout the year, LCFC expanded its impact in meaningful ways. We launched the second cohort of Adelante Colorado, continuing strengthening nonprofits and cultivating the next generation of community leadership. We partnered with the Office of New Americans to administer more than $2 million through the Welcome, Reception, and Integration Grant Program, ensuring immigrant-serving organizations across urban, rural, and frontier communities had the resources needed to respond with compassion and effectiveness. We deepened our Power Together partnership with Xcel Energy, advanced statewide policy and advocacy efforts, convened nonprofit leaders through our Leadership Roundtables, and continued building trusted relationships.

In 2025, we expanded our team, maintained a strong financial position, and finalized a bold strategic vision that will guide LCFC into its next chapter. At its heart are three commitments: strengthening Colorado’s nonprofit ecosystem, promoting policy and advocacy, and advancing the wellbeing of our communities. These commitments reflect our belief that lasting change happens when nonprofits are strong, communities help shape the decisions that affect their lives, and the infrastructure exists for future generations to thrive.

As we look toward 2026, another exciting chapter awaits. LCFC will begin the search for a permanent home: a place that embodies our vision for the future. We envision a vibrant community hub where nonprofit leaders collaborate, ideas are cultivated, innovation flourishes, and organizations have access to shared resources.

ADELANTE COLORADO:

Nurturing Nonprofit Leadership Committed to strengthening and cultivating nonprofit leadership, the LCFC, with continued support from the Colorado Health Foundation, launched in 2025 the Adelante Colorado Program Cohort II. Building on lessons from the initial two years and a comprehensive evaluation, LCFC refined the program to better respond to current community conditions and the evolving needs of nonprofit leaders.

Adelante Colorado is a two-year leadership and organizational capacity-building initiative designed to strengthen nonprofits serving immigrant and Latino communities across Colorado, with priority given to rural organizations and those serving predominantly immigrant populations. The program focuses on long-term organizational resilience, leadership sustainability, governance, advocacy readiness, and systems strengthening.

Adelante Colorado has shown that leadership development goes beyond technical knowledge and industry’s best practices—it must be grounded in cultural values, offer social and emotional support, and foster a sense of belonging.

COUNTIES REACHED

A collaboration between the Latino Community Foundation of Colorado and the Colorado Department of Local Affairs, the Nonprofit Infrastructure Grant (NPI) program broke from the traditional philanthropic funding focused solely on program delivery, instead prioritizing longterm infrastructure and capacity building.

The NPI represented a significant investment in strengthening small, community-based nonprofits across Colorado. The program was designed to support nonprofits with annual budgets between $150,000 and $2 million serving historically underrepresented and underserved communities—including BIPOC, immigrant and refugee, LGBTQ+, rural, low-income, and disability communities.

Over the life of the initiative, the NPI invested more than $13 million in 164 organizations across 12 Colorado counties, strengthening internal systems, leadership, and long-term sustainability.

In 2025, the LCFC continued to work with 89 of the 164 grantees. The investment advanced equity throughout the state by ensuring communityrooted organizations had the infrastructure needed to thrive and lead lasting change in their communities.

STORY OF IMPACT

Preserving Community Along East Colfax – The Impact of the Colorado Communities of Color Loan Fund Organizations serving communities of color are often asked to address some of the state’s biggest challenges: housing instability, displacement, economic mobility, and access to opportunity.

What they do not always have is access to capital.

For The Fax Partnership, flexible financing became essential in a fast-moving effort to preserve affordability along one of Metro Denver’s most rapidly changing corridors: East Colfax.

After years of identifying properties that could help preserve affordability in the area, The Fax had an opportunity to acquire a motel property before it entered the speculative real estate market. The organization assembled financing from multiple partners, including LCFC’s Colorado Communities of Color Loan Fund (CCCLF).

Monica Martinez, The Fax’s Executive Director, says that “the CCCLF was the perfect fit. It provided the necessary capital with flexible terms that were congruent with our other lenders’ requirements.”

Today, the site is operating as part of the City and County of Denver’s Roads to Recovery shelter program while longterm redevelopment plans continue moving forward. On the relevance of programs such as the CCCLF, Monica adds that “every dollar saved on interest and every hour saved on compliance is a resource we can redirect back into the properties and the Roads to Recovery shelter program”.

Colorado Communities of Color Loan Fund The Colorado Communities of Color Loan Fund is redefining what equitable development looks like, proving that financial tools—when wielded with purpose—can transform infrastructures, livelihoods, and generational opportunities.

UNCHARTED REPORT:

Nonprofits Leading Colorado’s Newcomer Response LCFC collaborated with the Connecting Communities Across the Americas Mapping Project, an initiative designed to strengthen understanding, coordination, and visibility of nonprofit efforts supporting newly arrived migrants across Colorado. The project centered on collecting and analyzing data from immigrant-serving organizations to better document their scope, scale, and impact supporting newcomer integration.

By assessing nonprofit capacity and response, the project aimed to inform policymakers, funders, and community leaders with reliable data that supports more coordinated, effective, and equitable systems of care.

The resulting report was prepared for public release and broad dissemination, with over 300 copies shared with key leaders across philanthropy, government, and the nonprofit sector. Through this work, the Uncharted Report strengthens LCFC’s role as a trusted convener and knowledge hub, advancing informed decision-making and reinforcing the essential contributions of communitybased organizations in responding to migration and integration needs statewide.

STRENGTHENING COMMUNITIES

Communities Lead, Communities Thrive

Throughout 2025, the Latino Community Foundation of Colorado (LCFC) continued to play a central leadership role as an active steering committee member of the Communities Lead, Communities Thrive (CLCT) coalition, with LCFC’s executive vice president serving as its chair.

In 2025, CLCT introduced a 14-month strategic framework designed to stabilize governance, enhance communications, and build long-term operational sustainability. Core goals included expanding membership, implementing a tiered coalition structure, and increasing outreach to nonprofits statewide—particularly those serving historically excluded communities.

Knowing that there is power in collaboration to drive meaningful and lasting change, CLCT partnered with peer philanthropic and nonprofit leaders to engage in legislative advocacy aimed at improving nonprofit access to state funding, including submitting formal recommendations to policymakers to reduce administrative and fiscal barriers that disproportionately impact community-based organizations.

LCFC’s leadership helped ensure that CLCT’s policy and advocacy efforts remained grounded in community realities, positioning CLCT to drive lasting systems change that better supports organizations and communities across Colorado.

STRENGTHENING COMMUNITIES

Welcome, Reception, & Integration Grant Program In 2025, LCFC was selected to implement the Welcome, Reception, and Integration (WRI) Grant Program, funded through HB24-1280, in partnership with the Office of New Americans (ONA) and the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE). The program supports community-based organizations providing humanitarian aid and integration services to newly arrived immigrants, advancing statewide efforts to create welcoming spaces, strengthen community cohesion, and respond to urgent migrant needs.

Leveraging its experience administering large-scale public funding, LCFC designed and managed a competitive, transparent grantmaking process that ensured geographic equity and support for communities with limited infrastructure.

As diverse groups of people arrive and make Colorado their home, the WRI Grant Program strengthened the capacity of immigrant serving organizations, elevated community-driven solutions, and reinforced LCFC’s role as a trusted steward of public funding in service of Colorado’s immigrant communities.

POWER TOGETHER:

Leading Energy Accessibility Power Together, a program in partnership with Xcel Energy Colorado, engages disproportionately impacted communities across the state in shaping more accessible, equitable energy solutions.

In 2025, Power Together focused on deepening community engagement through the launch of Power Together Hubs—trusted community-based spaces led by nonprofit partners. These hubs will serve as local entry points where residents can learn about available energy-saving programs.

Because of its strong partnership with community, LCFC is able to support broader sector alignment with state agencies and energy partners, and contributed to the development of tools aimed at improving energy navigation.

By centering relationships over promotion and investing in local leadership, the program continues to position communities not as end users, but as co-creators of more equitable energy solutions for Colorado.

POWER TOGETHER’S CORNERSTONE

Community Action Partners Community Action Partners (CAPs) are the program’s heartbeat, acting as trusted community connectors bridging the gap between residents, their needs, and Xcel Energy. Their work helped simplify engagement tools and shifted conversations toward community-level trends and priorities.

The CAPs build trusted relationships with residents, businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations to better understand barriers to energy affordability and access. More than gathering data, they create meaningful connections by listening to community members where they live, work, and gather.

Their insights help shape Power Together by increasing awareness of existing energy programs and informing new solutions that better meet community needs. Through this work, community voices play a direct role in driving change.

A dedicated team of LCFC staff, CAPs, and contracted professionals support the work of Power Together in Denver, Aurora, and the San Luis Valley. Reflecting the diversity of the communities they serve, CAPs bring a range of cultural backgrounds, languages, and lived experiences, united by a commitment to expanding equitable access to affordable and sustainable energy.

Effective community engagement is built on trust, consistency, and authentic relationships. CAPs are successful because they are not only working in these communities—they are part of them.

Celebrating Our Shared Philanthropy PHILANTHROPISTS OF THE YEAR The LCFC staff, board members, and community came together in December 2025 to honor the generosity of those who support our work with their time, talent, or treasure.

Philanthropy can be expressed through grandiose gestures or as the ever-present voice that says “let’s keep going.” The 2025 LCFC Philanthropists of the Year have been that voice throughout their lives, standing by and for their community, telling them “I’m here with you.

Let’s keep going.” It is an honor for LCFC to call these individuals our friends and celebrate them for their continual support.

The evening, hosted at the Denver Art Museum, welcomed over 250 attendees and and celebrated the power of collective philanthropy driving change throughout Colorado.

The gathering was also an opportunity to recognize two community leaders, whose lives are an example of philanthropy in action.

Ana Eugenia Báez

Ana is a force for change—an organizer, leader, and advocate whose generosity and determination have transformed communities across Colorado.

She advocates for housing rights and is a trusted voice for immigrant families. She embodies true philanthropy—uplifting others and inspiring lasting change in every community she touches.

Rosemary Rodriguez

A Denver native, Rosemary embodies the philanthropic spirit of Latinos. Her unwavering support has made a profound difference in the lives of many. From tutoring Latino and Chinese immigrants to serving in public life to founding the beloved Cafecito gatherings, Rosemary leads with compassion, and shows the power of community, activism, and collective care.

LEADERSHIP ROUNDTABLES:

Building a Resilient and Collaborative Nonprofit Sector Impactful learning and growth happen when done in community, are rooted in cultural values, and facilitated in spaces of trust and curiosity.

LCFC’s Leadership Roundtables (LRT) series has been fostering opportunities for such learning and growth for over five years, bringing together nonprofit leaders, advocates, funders, and community partners from across the state.

The roundtables are designed to provide timely insight, practical guidance, and shared learning on the most pressing challenges facing Latinoled and immigrant-serving organizations, while strengthening connection and collective leadership statewide.

Collectively, the 2025 Leadership Roundtables reinforced LCFC’s commitment to equipping nonprofit leaders with knowledge, connection, and confidence — ensuring they are prepared not only to respond to uncertainty, but to lead with clarity, care, and collective power.

LCFC continues to demonstrate sound financial management and responsible stewardship of donor resources. Thanks to your continued support, the LCFC remains in a strong financial position, ending 2025 with $19.3 million in net assets.

Donor contributions are managed with transparency and purpose.

76% of total expenses were invested directly in programs that advance capacity building, infrastructure development, civic, economic, health and cultural opportunities, while administrative and fundraising costs remained appropriately controlled.

Combined with an independent clean audit, these results demonstrate LCFC’s commitment to fiscal responsibility, accountability, and maximizing the impact of every donor dollar.
