When the COVID-19 pandemic struck in March of 2020, The Latino Community Foundation of Colorado (LCFC) launched Ayuda (help) Colorado—a three-tiered response designed specifically to support and stabilize Latino led and Latino serving (LLS) nonprofit organizations and immigrant and refugee serving organizations (IRS) through grantmaking and investments, data and resources, and capacity building opportunities.
This community-led strategy stabilizes and strengthens the Latino, immigrant and refugee nonprofit infrastructure—the vehicle by which families receive support. We know from our community leaders that having direct access to services and supports, in a culturally relevant manner, is critical for families in times of crisis.
