Later, the celebration moved to the historic North Richmond Missionary Baptist Church to honor our local heroes: Janine Shaheed, Princess Robinson, and Ms Annie KingMeredith Posthumously: Fred Jackson, Whitney Dotson, Mike Carlson, and Dr Henry Clark

Doria Robinson, our Executive Director, thought it was imperative to acknowledge and remember community members 'There's a reason why we have Fred Jackson Way,' she says She shared that some of the honorees had mentored her when she started the Urban Tilth work 17 years ago

Folks who came out to celebrate include YOU, the community's Growing Wiser seniors, Supervisor Gioia, veteran organizer, Cynthia Jordan, various artists, filmmaker and historian, Doug Harris.

Again, we salute the honorees for their contributions Trailblazing paths to improve the quality of life in North Richmond and neighboring communities -- from the creeks to the youth to the environment
