You may have seen the construction crew working. And maybe you experienced altered traffic for a bit. But, it's finished!
It's official - the Fred Jackson Way Rain Gardens Project is complete with a bike lane, sidewalk, and green plants.

Access
You now have easy access to the farm whether you're walking or riding. And, you have green infrastructure that filters pollutants from the roadway, sending cleaner, filtered rainwater to nearby San Pablo Creek.
Background
In 2015, Urban Tilth was awarded a Coastal Conservancy Grant to design the rain gardens.
In 2017, we partnered with the County and The Watershed Project to create the North Richmond Watershed Connections Project (which includes the Rain Gardens).
This project was awarded a Proposition 1 grant by the State Coastal Conservancy to fund construction.
