Welcome to A Celebration of Access to Justice. I am honored to be the chair of the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York (LASNNY) board of directors and to have the privilege to recognize Lillian M. Moy at this important moment - a celebration of her over 40 years of service and 27 years as the Executive Director of LASNNY.
Lillian has been a driving force in increasing access to justice to meet the needs of our low-income communities. Her work has helped tens of thousands of families and individuals access the legal services they need to help with unemployment, homelessness prevention, education, disability, and hundreds of other civil legal matters. Under her leadership LASNNY has grown from two offices in Albany and Saratoga, serving the greater Capital Region, to six offices serving the 16 counties from the Catskills to the Canadian border. Her passion, perseverance, and tireless pursuit of justice are inspiring. We could not have asked for a better leader.
Today we gather to celebrate Lillian’s legacy, honor her dedication to Access to Justice and look forward to the future and the 100th anniversary of the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York.
Thank you for being here tonight and enjoy the celebration!
Sincerely, James E. Hacker
