Mission Campus Update
P ro g e r s s on t he New Building at Mission C am p u s

As we open another wonderful year at La Scuola, we are closer than ever to achieving our dream of building the first Reggio Emilia inspired K-8 school in the Americas. While COVID-19 may have slowed progress for some, it instead gave us the opportunity to hit a huge milestone: finally bringing together our entire K-8 student body onto one campus! Both in spite of and because of the pandemic, we had time to demolish the existing convent, complete all remediation work so that the site is primed and ready for construction, add new classrooms housing two grades and an inspiring visual arts atelier, and create a vibrant environmental studies hub with beautiful gardens, a deck, and an everpopular soccer pitch. Major milestones:
Michele Zini (ZPZ Partners) has completed the designs for the New Main Building, as well as preliminary renovations to the existing buildings, to expand the campus with ateliers, classrooms, and facilities that support the school’s growth to two classes per grade and create the campus that every student truly deserves.
With the support of the Facilities Committee, we have engaged local contractors Oliver and Company for the construction of the New Main Building.
Additionally, right now, we are working hard to:
Finish the entitlement process by December 2022 to secure final approval from the City of San Francisco to develop the Mission site; Complete the ongoing value engineering work to ensure the best possible building for our investment and for the students.
The project will be made possible by a combination of fundraising and financing; the faster we reach our fundraising goals, the sooner the new building will become a reality. Please reach out to
