New staff at Joaquín Rodrigo

This year not only a lot of new students have joined us at IES Joaquín Rodrigo, but also a lot of new teachers.

The change of staff is something that has been happening every year. But is it harmful or beneficial? It s sad to think that some teachers you like aren t going to teach you any more , Elisa. S, a student in 1st year BACH comments, while her classmate, Mario Palomo, sees things differently: If you have new teachers you can learn new things and study methods , he adds.

However , the important question is, why does this keep happening? Justo, our head of studies said that every year 20-25% of the teachers change schools, because most of them are temporary workers.

Andrés Andrés, our Bilingual Coordinator, has been teaching many years in this highschool and has seen how a lot of teachers have gone all through the years. He thinks that it works similar to life: people come and go and you just have to get used to it.

Anyway, we have a good impression on both temporary and permanent teachers.

Tatiana’s goodbye

Tatiana, one of the most beloved teachers at IES Joaquín Rodrigo , has left the school staff this year. Why? Well, this is because she was offered a job at the Madrid's Consejería de Educación and now she works there. I am sure we will all miss her, but it was something she could not refuse.

Tatiana was an impressive teacher and a very nice person, but she also played a very important role because she was... The head of the I.T. Department!

Her main function was to make sure that we all had computers that would actually work, because if they did not, we would not be able to work with the Virtual Classroom or all that other stuff…

SOME TEACHERS' OPINIONS

Toñi (Language teacher):

"Tatiana was an excellent partner, because she was in the same department as me. The fact that she's gone is horrible, but we're sure she'll do well in her new job."

Zaida (English teacher):

Oh yeah, Tatiana. An excellent teacher. It's a bit sad that she's gone, but we all know that she'll be in our hearts no matter where she is. I'm sure she will be doing great.

Well, this is a goodbye, Tatiana.

WE TRUST IN EVERYTHING YOU DO!
