2 Case Study - Water park treatment system

A multi-pool water management system

When the operator of a new water park needed a large-scale system to analyse, measure and treat 10,000 cubic metres of water for the protection of its visitors, water-treatment expert SEKO was approached to provide a bespoke solution.

The facility was located at Camping Village Roma Capitol, within the protected Pineta di Castel Fusano reserve on Italy’s west coast, just outside Rome.

With this popular resort attracting a broad spectrum of guests including families, couples and singles, management wanted to offer a range of swimming and bathing facilities to suit every visitor.

Therefore, planning for the new aquapark included the installation of three pools: a semi-Olympic-sized swimming pool, a shallow children’s pool and a wellness pool designed with hydrotherapy features.

However, such a comprehensive offering brought with it a significant challenge –how to continuously treat 10,000 m³ of water precisely and consistently?

For this, the operator turned to SEKO, a water-treatment equipment specialist with almost five decades’ experience in the design and manufacture of dosing pumps, analysis systems and measuring instruments.

After visiting site and performing a full analysis of the application, SEKO spent time with the operator to determine their specific requirements. By working alongside the customer from the outset, SEKO’s product team was able to listen, put forward ideas and create a collaborative plan for the site.

As a result of this process, SEKO proposed three of its systems to handle the site’s significant water-treatment demand.

Photometer system

For the setting and measurement of key water-treatment values such as pH, ORP and chlorine, SEKO’s multiparameter Photometer system was ideal for this application.

The unit, known for its precise, reproducible analysis and ease of use, would allow the operator to benefit from historical and real-time determination of multiple parameters via a multilingual graphic display that presents all available measurements simultaneously.

Meanwhile, fitting of the system was made simple courtesy of the supplied quick couplings for water inlet and outlet fixings.

PoolFeeder

When it came to the dosing of chlorine tablets, SEKO recommended its PoolFeeder system, an all-in-one solution for commercial swimming pools.

This versatile system offers users the choice between manual and automatic control, dosing chlorine in intervals directly from an integrated 25kg tank, with the dissolved solution conveyed by a venturi nozzle to the pool water via a booster pump.

For added reassurance, PoolFeeder continuously monitors all functions to ensure anomalies are identified instantly and uninterrupted operation maintained.

Tekna dosing pump

Finally, in order to deliver high-precision dosing of pH minus (a liquid acid concentrate), SEKO’s Tekna solenoid dosing pump was selected.

PH minus is used to achieve continuous pH-value reduction in swimming pool applications, making Tekna’s accuracy and consistency a natural fit for the essential process.

And with high-quality components such as a PVDF pump head, PTFE diaphragms and ceramic ball valves, Tekna offered outstanding compatibility with pH minus for reliability and extensive service life.

These three systems combine to deliver a complete water-treatment system for the site, with SEKO’s after-sales technical service meaning the customer is supported at all times and gets the most out of their equipment.

Now fully operational, the park welcomes thousands of visitors from across Europe and beyond to enjoy the facilities, while the operator benefits from complete peace of mind that water in all its pools is clean and safe.

Another example of a SEKO solution helping customers achieve long-term, cost-effective improvements in their daily operations.
