Welcome to SEKO World

Welcome to the October 2024 issue of SEKO World, the bi-monthly newsletter that takes you to the very heart of the SEKO business.

In this edition, we have a brand-new case study from the team at SEKO USA that explores a laundry dosing upgrade in Miami, Florida as our LS100 system continues to impress around the world.

There’s recruitment news from SEKO Benelux, where the team continues to grow as part of our commitment to delivering exceptional service to customers across the region.

We also have updates on completed and upcoming exhibitions in Asia, Europe and South America as we introduce our chemical dosing and dilution innovations to the cleaning and hygiene and water-treatment markets.

Enjoy the issue.

Partnering with Greenline at Leicester City FC

SEKO’s partnerships with water-treatment specialists help to improve residential, commercial and industrial water quality and protect people the world over.

In the UK, we’ve worked on a number of projects with Greenline Water Treatment Services, experts in closed systems, cooling towers, steam boilers, pretreatment and recycled water technologies.

A recent Greenline collaboration saw us develop a solution for removing and preventing legionella in the water supply at the King Power Stadium, home of English Premier League team Leicester City FC.

After visiting site along with Greenline Technical Director Aaron Green, SEKO UK’s Water Treatment Sales Manager Jody Bowman recommended a bespoke integrated dosing unit to inject 2% hypochlorous acid into the supply.

The panel-mounted system was designed with SEKO’s trusted Kontrol 65 single-parameter controller and Tekna solenoid-driven pump. These fully compatible products work in harmony, dosing with exceptional precision and consistency to eradicate biofilms and keep the system free of legionella.

Kontrol 65 is part of SEKO’s Kontrol Series, a dedicated family of instruments for single and multi-parameter measurement across every water-treatment process. Click here to find out more about this comprehensive range.

Multi-product solution for a London splash park

Recreational water specialist Fountaineers recently turned to SEKO when they required chemical dosing and parameter management solutions as part of plant room upgrades for a west London splash park.

SEKO’s decades of experience developing pumps and controllers for the watertreatment sector made us the natural choice for this project, which was located at Kensington Memorial Park.

Maintaining water quality in public facilities such as splash parks is essential for protecting visitors, and Fountaineers commissioned SEKO to deliver equipment for the dosing of chlorine and monitoring of pH and temperature.

SEKO UK’s technical team visited site to carry out a full assessment of the application and recommended a combination of systems: PoolFeeder M, Kontrol 800 and Tekna.

PoolFeeder M is an integrated dosing station for use with calcium hypochlorite tablets, which are dissolved at the point of dosing to protect staff from the handling of strong liquid chlorine and avoid the pollution risks associated with its storage.

Kontrol 800 is an intelligent multiparameter instrument capable of up to six simultaneous measurements via its user-friendly interface, with features including data logging and electrode quality monitoring.

Tekna’s function in this application is the precise dosing of pH minus, a liquid acid concentrate used to reduce pH value and an essential element for this process.

Thanks to the quality and reliability of SEKO’s industry-leading products, the park’s operator can rest assured that splash park users always enjoy safe, healthy water conditions.

SEKO Benelux welcomes new Technical Country Manager

As SEKO Benelux continues its commitment to the Belgian, Netherlands and Luxembourg markets, we’re recruiting the region’s finest talent in order to serve clients across the cleaning and hygiene and water-treatment sectors.

The latest addition to the Benelux team is Technical Country Manager Patrick Vioen, who brings more than 33 years’ experience in chemical dosing and is already well versed in the SEKO product range.

From assessing the client’s application and identifying an ideal solution to dedicated after-sales technical support, Patrick’s role will take him across the region as he provides his expertise at every stage of the customer journey.

If you would like technical assistance in the Benelux region, Patrick can be reached at p.vioen@seko.com or by phone on 0031-6-13481766.

Meanwhile, SEKO Benelux continues to recruit and is seeking another member to complete the team by the end of 2024.

Tekna integrated into portable chlorination units

SEKO and innovation go hand in hand, and we have recently been working with a water hygiene specialist on the development of creative portable chemical dosing units featuring our Tekna Series solenoid-driven pumps.

These units are used for domestic water system commissioning or for reactive internal chlorination and disinfection, where they are easily attached before the pulse rate is set and disinfectant drawn to the desired outlets.

Tekna is built into a durable casing for both portability and protection and offers a flow rate of 5l/h at 8 bar and 3l/h at 10 bar with a stroke rate of 160 strokes/minute – perfect for engineers and technicians working on residential projects.

Whether fixed or mobile, transform your application with Tekna’s incredible chemical dosing precision and consistency. Click here for more information.

Simplifying surface cleaning

SEKO’s strong presence in the food and beverage sector continued recently as we partnered with cleaning specialist Zep to provide a bespoke chemical dispensing solution for an eatery in Hilversum, Netherlands.

At the popular t’Pandje café, staff were manually dosing cleaning products into spray bottles and mop buckets. As well as exposing employees to harsh concentrated chemicals, this approach meant that dosing was inaccurate and effective results could not be guaranteed.

Having supplied our ProMax chemical dilution systems to Zep for many years, the SEKO Benelux team was delighted to once again deliver a customised unit for the automatic dispensing of multi-purpose, floor and glass cleaners as well as degreaser.

By diluting and delivering precise, consistent volumes of cleaning solution, ProMax allows the operator to avoid unnecessary chemical wastage while ensuring surfaces are always properly cleaned.

Plus, with ProMax’s customisation option simplifying product selection, cleaning is performed quickly while dispensing errors are reduced – essential in this fast-paced food-service environment.

SEKO Turkey enhances fruit quality for commercial growers

Fruit farms around the world benefit from the accuracy and consistency of SEKO’s dosing solutions, such as these solenoiddriven Tekna pumps which are used within an integrated system to inject fertilisers and other chemicals into irrigation water.

Designed and developed in Turkey, this system harnesses Tekna’s renowned precision and durability to ensure growers can rely on their equipment when producing fruits such as blackberries, raspberries and blueberries on a large scale.

As well as enhancing fruit quality, these user-friendly systems ensure chemical and water waste is minimised as part an efficient, sustainable and cost-effective process.

Tekna Series pumps are a mainstay of the SEKO range, built with PVDF pump heads, PTFE diaphragms and ceramic ball valves to provide outstanding chemical compatibility for repeatable results and extensive service life.

As well as constant or proportional dosing (including batch mode) via analogue and digital inputs, Tekna is designed with a stabilised multi power supply that draws the exact current required to activate the pump regardless of power-supply fluctuations.

Meanwhile, a detailed statistics menu allows pump performance and chemical consumption data to be monitored for process insight and cost control.
