Bringing the power of IoT to a new-build laundry

When SEBI Solutions – laundry industry specialist and authorised partner of Electrolux Professional – was tasked with providing a state-of-the-art chemical injection system for a new-build commercial laundry, they commissioned SEKO to supply a solution from its world-leading range.

The modern, purpose-built laundry, located in the Rhône Alpes, south-east France, was contracted to process linen, towels and uniforms from three regional nursing homes in accordance with Risk Analysis and Biocontamination Control (RABC) standards.

Facing such high demand, regular turnover and the need for consistently excellent wash results, the operator knew that they would require a proven dosing solution.

That’s why they approached SEKO, whose range of next-generation detergent dosing systems are used worldwide in every kind of installation from small-scale laundrettes to heavy-duty industrial laundries.

As a starting point for the project, SEKO’s technical staff visited the site in order to carry out a full assessment, working in partnership with the SEBI Solutions team to understand the operator’s unique requirements and recommend an ideal solution.

The laundry management’s specification was clear – they wanted a high-precision system that could deliver consistently excellent wash results and minimise chemical wastage in order to make the application as sustainable as possible.

WashMulti Solenoid

Having considered the client’s requirements, proposed site layout and other factors, SEKO suggested its WashMulti Solenoid system as the perfect fit to fulfil the brief.

Designed specifically for commercial laundries, WashMulti Solenoid is a wallmounted detergent dosing system that can be configured to transport up to eight chemicals to as many as five washer-extractors.

The system is programmable for 100 formulas and comes with SEKO’s Proof of Dosing technology, which maintains precise, consistent dosing regardless of variations in chemical viscosity or tube condition. This feature was especially important for the laundry’s management, as it would give them confidence in wash results and allow them to avoid costly and inconvenient rewashing.

Meanwhile, WashMulti Solenoid’s flush sequence pre- and post-dosing – which helps to prevent contamination and reduce chemical contact time with components – would give the operator excellent reliability and extended service life from their equipment.

As well as this state-of-the-art dosing technology, the revolutionary WashMulti Solenoid features an integrated Wi-Fi hub to enable 24/7 data on demand courtesy of connection to the SekoWeb app and online platform.

With live and historical statistics at their fingertips via smartphone, laptop or PC, the operator could monitor chemical consumption in spend-per-load terms for a complete and true reflection of their application’s cost.

Meanwhile, online connectivity would enable technicians to be alerted to anomalies immediately, allowing them to intervene remotely and avoid unplanned downtime while reducing the environmental impact of site visits.

After installation and setup were completed, SEKO provided comprehensive product training to help staff get the most from their equipment while minimising the chance of error and subsequent chemical wastage.

With their equipment fully functional, the operator of this busy facility enjoys excellent control over wash results and chemical consumption, efficiently fulfilling its sizable daily laundry demand.

Another example of a SEKO solution helping customers achieve long-term, cost-effective improvements in their daily operations.
