A new dosing method for high precision and reduced maintenance When the operator of a hotel onpremise laundry wanted to upgrade from traditional chemical injection methods in order to improve dosing accuracy and reduce maintenance requirement, they approached SEKO for a dedicated solution.

The 200-bed hotel’s laundry processes a high volume of bed linen, towels and uniforms every day, and with a steady stream of discerning guests the operator needed wash results to be consistently excellent without allowing costs to escalate.

Having recently launched its LS100 laundry dosing system, SEKO recommended this revolutionary system as the ideal system to take the

laundry’s efficiency to a new standard while minimising chemical wastage and enhancing sustainability.

LS100’s venturi-based chemical injection uses water pressure to induce dosing – with no moving parts meaning venturi cartridges last longer and require minimal maintenance. This allowed the operator to move away from their old peristaltic systems which required regular tube replacements in order to maintain dosing precision and consistency.

Venturi cartridges are not only quick and simple to remove; they can perform hundreds of thousands of doses in their lifespan, meaning replacement frequency is minimal which would significantly reduce the customer’s maintenance costs while removing the environmental impact of tube disposal.

LS100 Meanwhile, the system can dose up to 10 chemicals in as many as four machines, while its modular design meant the operator could easily add additional units should they want to expand capacity in the future.

LS100’s colour-coded touchscreen interface allows staff to quickly and easily identify system status and minimise the risk of error when selecting wash programmes – ideal for a site with high employee turnover and a multicultural workforce.

With their previous dosing system, management did not have an accurate or reliable method of monitoring chemical consumption, but with LS100 they are now able to precisely track detergent use courtesy of SEKO’s groundbreaking remote connectivity platforms.

Named SekoWeb and SekoBlue, these smartphone apps use Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections respectively to bring the operator closer than ever to their application.

SekoWeb delivers live and historical data on demand 24/7 via the customer’s personal dashboard, where they can analyse wash performance and view chemical consumption as cost per load. In addition, they can download manuals, technical data sheets and other key documents.

Since having the system installed, hotel management have enjoyed excellent service from their LS100 unit, reporting a reduction in chemical, water and energy consumption while maintaining excellent wash results.

Feedback on the system’s remote connectivity has also been overwhelmingly positive, with the operator citing the ability to view chemical consumption in financial terms via SekoWeb as a gamechanger for cost control and budgeting.
