It’s hard to believe it has been over 20 years since my wife Jody & I lived this adventure. I had been living aboard my 56’ ketch Lost Soul for a couple years, and had lived on a humber of other smaller boats over the years. But Lost Soul, a 56’ staysail ketch, was by far my favorite, and she was built to sail the world, so that is what I decided to do.
At the time Jody was the bartender and waitress at the Portofino Yacht Club. We’d known each other for a number of years, but we were always dating other people, and never dated.
One day I asked her if she might want to go sailing. At the time neither of us was involved with other partners, so she said yes.
The rest, as they say, is history! She is now my wife of over 25 years.
