Hello parents and friends. Our 2015-16 school year is well underway and I am most pleased to report that all is in place – students, teachers, and classrooms. The teachers have gone right to work with their students and the instruction we hoped for is occurring.
Welcome, Welcome With every new school year we welcome not just our freshmen and transfer students, but also new classroom teachers and staff members. This year our “new crop” is a bit larger in numbers than previous years but no less talented. Their professionalism, competency and likability by students and colleagues is already quite evident. Our new members are as follows: Ms. Tina Bonacci is a graduate of La Salle in 1994. In 1998 she returned as a teacher and fulfilled other assigned responsibilities. In 2007 she was appointed the Director of Education for our Lasallian Mid-west District and then Principal of Ramona Convent. She is pleased to be back with La Salle in the role of College Counselor. Mrs. Lizabeth Cadwalader is our new Director of Admissions. Most recently she served
Cantwell / Sacred Heart of Mary High School fulfilling the responsibilities of Director of Public Relations and Marketing. Her dayto-day work also had her immersed in working with high school applicants. Mr. Anthony Holyfield has been a familiar face on our campus having been both a short and long term substitute teacher. He is now a full-time Math Teacher for the Lancers. If the last name sounds familiar, yes, he is the spouse to Mrs. Kjersti Holyfield. Ms. Yesenia Macias is now a member of our World Languages Department as an instructor in Spanish. In her previous work she taught at Saint Mary’s Academy. Ms. Yona Han comes to us from the Arcadia School District. La Salle has been receiving increased inquiries and applicants from families of foreign descent. In our effort to address the needs of these students, we have decided to take a more proactive role by appointing a Director of Continued on page 2
