Message of Gratitude faculty, staff, Trustees, Regents, and friends of the school have reminded me just how fortunate we are to be part of a community that so wholeheartedly believes in our mission.

Dear La Salle Community, As I reflect on my first year serving as Vice President for Advancement, I am filled with deep gratitude. Since joining the La Salle family in 2021, I have always admired the strength, generosity, and spirit of this remarkable community. This past year, however, gave me the privilege of experiencing that spirit in the most direct and meaningful way. The generosity and enthusiasm I have experienced from our parents, alumni,

The accomplishments of the past year are a testament to what is possible when the La Salle family comes together. Our Lancer Invitational Golf Tournament became one of the most successful tournaments in school history, tripling participation from the previous year. At Crystal Ball, our community responded with extraordinary generosity, resulting in the most successful Special Ask in the event’s history. The Class of 2029 families set a new school record by achieving an incredible 96 percent participation rate in the Parent Pledge Program, the highest participation rate our school has ever achieved. We also celebrated the return of Taste of La Salle after last year’s cancellation following the Eaton Fire, welcoming the largest number of community vendors in the event’s history. We dedicated La Cascade, a beautiful new campus sanctuary that has quickly become a place of peace, reflection, and connection for our students and visitors. Grandparents Day once again welcomed a full house, bringing

generations of the La Salle family together to celebrate the students who inspire us every day. These milestones, along with so many other memorable moments throughout the year, reflect the vibrant, generous, and supportive community that makes La Salle truly special. Our accomplishments are about far more than numbers. They represent trust, shared purpose, and an unwavering belief in our students. They reflect a community that continues to invest in the mission of La Salle and in the lives of the young people we are privileged to serve. Because of your generosity, students received tuition assistance, academic and extracurricular programs continued to flourish, campus initiatives moved forward, and families experienced the support of a community that stands beside them. Every gift, every volunteer hour, every event attended, and every word of encouragement helped make this an extraordinary year. At La Salle, institutional advancement is about far more than fundraising. It is about building meaningful relationships, inspiring generosity, and

creating opportunities that ensure every student can thrive in an environment rooted in faith, service, community, and excellence. Throughout this past year, I witnessed that mission come alive because of you. As we look ahead, I am filled with excitement for what is to come. As we continue planning for our next capital campaign and prepare to celebrate La Salle’s 70th Anniversary, I am confident our brightest days are still ahead. If this year has taught me anything, it is that there is no limit to what our community can accomplish when we work together. Alumni Spotlight NORLAN TORRES ’97 La Salle: Looking back, what are some of your favorite memories from your time as a student at La Salle? Norlan Torres: Honestly, just the overall experience of being a high schooler at La Salle. Friendships - lunch periods, joking around, studying together, and friendships that lasted beyond graduation. Teachers and classes - favorite teachers, memorable classroom moments, difficult assignments, and those classes everyone still talks about. The campus itself - seeing it transform over the 4 years I spent there. (baseball and football field, the brothers’ residence, which is now the cafeteria, and the outdoor auditorium area) Catholic-school traditions -Masses, service projects, and community events.

LS: How did your experience at La Salle help shape the person you are today? NT: My experience at La Salle helped shape the person I am today by teaching me the importance of community, discipline, and perseverance. La Salle also challenged me academically and encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone, which helped me become more confident and independent. Looking back, I realize that many of the lessons I learned at La Salle went beyond the classroom. The experiences, friendships, challenges, and opportunities I had there helped shape my values and the way I approach both my personal and professional life. I’m grateful for the foundation La Salle gave me and for the person those experiences helped me become. LS: What inspired you to stay connected to La Salle after graduation? NT: La Salle gave me a strong foundation, so staying involved allows me to support the school

and future generations of students in whatever ways I can. It’s meaningful to remain connected to a place that played such an important role in my journey. LS: Why is it important to you to give back and invest in the next generation of Lancers? NT: Investing in the next generation is a way of paying it forward. I want current students to feel supported, challenged, and encouraged to make the most of their La Salle experience. By being an example of what is possible after graduation, I hope I can help students recognize their potential and feel connected to a community that will continue to support them long after they leave campus. LS: You have supported several important initiatives at La Salle over the years. What motivates your philanthropic support of the school? NT: La Salle provided me with an education, lasting relationships, and experiences that helped shape my values and the person I am today. I believe strongly in giving current and future Lancers the same opportunities to learn, grow, and discover their potential. Supporting important initiatives at La Salle is a way for me to help strengthen the school and ensure that students have the resources, experiences, and support they need to thrive. It’s especially meaningful to know that my investment can have an impact that extends well beyond my own experience and helps shape the future of the La Salle community. LS: What does it mean to you to see your generosity making an impact on current and future students? NT: What means the most to me is knowing that the impact extends beyond a single contribution.

Whether it helps provide resources, strengthen programs, or create opportunities for students to grow and succeed, it is an investment in the future of the entire La Salle community. I hope my support inspires students to make the most of their experience, pursue their goals with confidence, and eventually find their own ways to give back. LS: What advice would you give to recent La Salle graduates about staying connected to their alma mater? NT: I’d encourage recent La Salle graduates to see staying connected as more than simply attending alumni events. Most importantly, give back in whatever way you can—whether through mentoring current students, sharing professional experiences, volunteering, or simply being an engaged member of the Lasallian community. Your relationship with La Salle doesn’t end at graduation; it can continue to grow as you grow in your personal and professional life. LS: When you think about La Salle’s future, what excites you most? NT: What excites me most about La Salle’s future is seeing how it continues to evolve while staying true to its Lasallian values. I’m excited about the opportunities for students to become more innovative, globally minded, and socially responsible, while still maintaining the strong sense of community that makes La Salle special. I also look forward to seeing how future generations of Lasallians will use their education and experiences to make a meaningful impact in their communities and beyond. The future of La Salle is exciting because its greatest strength has always been its people—and I believe that will continue for generations to come.

La Cascade

A PLACE OF PEACE, REFLECTION, AND COMMUNITY At the heart of La Salle’s campus is La Cascade, a five-pool waterfall and courtyard sanctuary dedicated in October 2025 as a place of reflection, renewal, and community for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Rooted in the Lasallian tradition and the Catholic understanding of water as a symbol of life, grace, and transformation, La Cascade is more than a campus landmark. It was intentionally designed as a traumainformed sanctuary, placing student and employee well-being at the center of its purpose. The gentle movement and sound of flowing water, combined with thoughtfully designed gathering spaces, create an environment that encourages emotional resilience, mindfulness, and meaningful connection. Since its dedication, La Cascade has quickly become one of the 12

most cherished spaces on campus. Throughout the day, students gather between classes, faculty and staff pause for conversation, and visitors experience firsthand a place that reflects La Salle’s commitment to caring for the whole person. THE VISION BEHIND THE DESIGN La Cascade was designed by Professor Casey Martin of George Fox University, whose trauma-informed approach shaped every element of the project. From the natural materials and curved seating to the sound and movement of the water, each design decision was made with the intention of creating a space where people feel welcomed, restored, and connected. “I’ve always believed that design isn’t just what a space looks like; it genuinely has the power to change how people feel. La Cascade was inspired by

the idea that a thoughtfully designed environment can transform everyday experiences, encouraging people to slow down, connect with one another, and find moments of beauty and rest. My hope is that students, faculty, staff, and visitors experience this space as a place of belonging, inspiration, and community, and that it serves as a reminder of the profound impact design can have on our lives.” - Casey Martin

La Salle: Can you tell us a little about Iris & Evan Jewelry Studio and what inspired you to start your business? Eva Qin: Iris & Evan Jewelry Studio was born from my love of beautiful craftsmanship and meaningful design. I’ve always been drawn to objects that combine artistry with lasting value, and that passion eventually led me to create a jewelry studio focused on timeless pieces rather than passing trends. Every design begins with the idea that jewelry should not simply be an accessory— it should become part of a person’s story and be cherished for years to come. LS: What first inspired you to partner with and support La Salle? EQ: When our family joined La Salle, we quickly realized that it is much more than an excellent school. It is a community built

on kindness, integrity, and genuine care for each student. Watching our son grow in this environment has been incredibly meaningful. Supporting La Salle felt less like sponsoring an organization and more like giving back to a community that has already given so much to our family. LS: Your business has sponsored both the La Salle Golf Tournament and the Crystal Ball this past year. What motivated you to become involved in these events? EQ: I enjoy seeing people come together around a shared purpose. Events like the Golf Tournament and Crystal Ball celebrate not only the school but also the relationships that make the community so special. Being able to contribute through our business was a wonderful way to participate

in that spirit of generosity and help support opportunities for current and future students. LS: As both a parent and a business owner, what has your experience been like partnering with the La Salle community? EQ: One of the things I appreciate most about La Salle is how authentic the relationships are. People are welcoming, generous with their time, and sincerely interested in supporting one another. As a business owner, it is refreshing to work within a community where trust, shared values, and genuine connections matter far more than transactions.

EQ: La Salle has become an important part of our family’s life. It is where our son is learning not only academically but also how to become a thoughtful, compassionate, and confident young person. LS: Why do you believe it is important for local businesses and families to support independent schools like La Salle?

LS: What would you say to another business owner who is considering supporting La Salle as a sponsor or community partner?

EQ: Education is one of the most meaningful investments a community can make.

EQ: I would simply encourage them to get involved.

Schools like La Salle help shape not only successful students but also compassionate people with integrity and a desire to serve others. Supporting that mission is one of the most meaningful ways a community can invest in its future.

The value of supporting La Salle goes far beyond sponsorship. It is an opportunity to build meaningful relationships, contribute to something lasting, and become part of a community that genuinely cares about its students and families.

LS: What has been the most rewarding part of your partnership with La Salle?

The return is not measured only in visibility—it is measured in connection, purpose, and the opportunity to make a positive difference.

EQ: For me, the most rewarding part has been feeling connected to a community that truly lives its values. Whether through school events, conversations with other parents, or opportunities to contribute, I have seen firsthand how much people care about one another. It is gratifying

Parent Volunteer Spotlight KRISTY GONZALEZ P’27 “Helping create the experiences that make La Salle feel like family.” As a dedicated parent volunteer, Kristy Gonzales has generously shared her time, talents, and enthusiasm in support of La Salle’s mission. Whether assisting with special events, welcoming families, or working behind the scenes, Kristy exemplifies the spirit of servant leadership that strengthens our community. La Salle: What inspired you to become involved at La Salle? Kristy Gonzalez: As a parent, I wanted to be involved in my daughter’s high school experience and use the skills I’ve gained through philanthropy and community involvement to support La Salle whenever I could. From the beginning, I could see how much

heart this community has. The way parents, faculty, staff, and alumni come together to support our students is truly special. I wanted to play a small part in helping create those experiences. LS: Why do you choose to volunteer your time and talents to support La Salle? KG: I believe a strong school community is built by people who are willing to show up and contribute in whatever way they can. Whether it’s helping at an event, supporting a fundraiser, or lending a hand behind the scenes, every effort matters. I enjoy giving back because I know these experiences help make La Salle the special place it is for our students. LS: Is there a particular event or moment at La Salle that has been especially meaningful to you?

KG: The La Salle Golf Tournament has been especially meaningful to me. What I love most is seeing parents, students, faculty, staff, alumni, and donors all come together with a shared purpose. The generosity and school spirit throughout the day are truly inspiring. Knowing that the event helps provide opportunities for future students makes it something I look forward to every year. LS: How has volunteering shaped your family’s experience at La Salle? KG: Volunteering has allowed our family to feel more connected to the La Salle community. We’ve met wonderful families, built lasting friendships, and experienced moments we may not have otherwise. It has made my daughter’s high school journey even more meaningful because we’ve been able to share in the experience together. LS: What does the La Salle community mean to you? KG: To me, La Salle is more than a school. It’s a community that feels like family. It’s a place where students are supported, challenged, and encouraged to become the best versions of themselves. I’m grateful for the friendships, the experiences, and the sense of belonging that La Salle has given our family. LS: What would you say to another parent who is thinking about getting involved?

She has a remarkable ability to build relationships within the community, and her willingness to reach out to local businesses and community partners has helped bring valuable resources, inkind donations, and sponsorships to many of our events. Her contributions have been especially impactful at the La Salle Golf Tournament and Taste of La Salle, where her outreach and connections have helped elevate the experience for our guests while directly supporting our fundraising efforts. Beyond the tangible support she secures, Kristy brings positivity, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to La Salle’s mission. Volunteers like Kristy remind us that the strength of our community comes from people who generously share their time, talents, and relationships in service of our students. La Salle: What has inspired you to dedicate your career to serving La Salle? Robert Packard: I joined La Salle in 1997, after spending the start of my career in public accounting and entertainment not knowing that La Salle would become a calling for me. Throughout the years, I have had the privilege of working alongside dedicated administration, faculty, staff, Christian Brothers, Board members, alumni, and parents who all share a common purpose—to help young people grow academically, spiritually, and personally. As Chief Financial Officer, I know much of my work happens behind the scenes, but I take great pride in ensuring that La Salle remains financially strong so future generations of students can benefit from the same exceptional education and values-centered experience that has defined our school for more than 70 years. Knowing that my work helps sustain this mission is what has inspired me to remain at La Salle for nearly three decades. LS: As a member of the leadership team, what motivates you to personally support La Salle through charitable giving?

RP: I believe leadership begins with setting an example. If I ask others to invest in La Salle, I should be willing to do the same. My family and I give because we believe deeply in the mission of this school and in the transformational impact it has on students’ lives. Every contribution—regardless of its size— helps provide opportunities that might not otherwise exist. Giving is my way of expressing gratitude for everything La Salle has given me over the years and helping ensure that today’s students and tomorrow’s Lancers have the same opportunities. LS: Having served La Salle for many years, what changes or accomplishments have made you most proud? RP: One of the accomplishments that makes me most proud is helping strengthen the financial stability of the school while allowing La Salle to continue investing in its students, faculty, facilities, and programs. I’ve witnessed tremendous growth in our campus, technology, academic offerings, athletic facilities, and student support services. Through careful financial stewardship, strategic

planning, and the generosity of our donors, we’ve been able to make improvements that directly benefit students while maintaining the long-term health of the institution. Most rewarding of all is seeing our graduates become successful professionals, compassionate leaders, and people of faith who make a positive difference in their communities. LS: What does the Lasallian mission mean to you, and how has it influenced your work and your decision to give? RP: The Lasallian mission reminds us that education is about much more than academics. It is about forming young men and women of faith, integrity, compassion, and service. That mission influences every financial decision I make. Behind every budget, every capital project, every scholarship, and every investment is a student whose future depends on the choices we make today. Supporting La Salle financially is simply another way I can help advance that mission beyond my daily responsibilities. LS: Why do you believe faculty and staff participation in giving is important? RP: Faculty and staff know better than anyone the difference La Salle makes in students’ lives because we witness it every day. When employees choose to give, it sends a powerful message that we believe in the mission and are personally invested in the school’s future. Participation demonstrates unity, commitment, and confidence in La Salle’s direction. It also encourages alumni, parents, and friends to join us in supporting the school.
