Since 1848 when our school was established on Canal Street, the Brothers of the Christian Schools have partnered with families across the New York City area to provide a superior Catholic education for their sons As a fixture here in the East Village for 175 years, La Salle Academy is known for its academic and athletic excellence. As a Catholic school founded on the principles of St John Baptist De La Salle and rooted in the Gospel values of Jesus Christ, a La Salle student is prepared to seek and follow the path in life that God has chosen for him. This highest of standards has stood the test of time and will continue to serve the young men of La Salle, preparing them to succeed in college, in the workplace, and by following in Jesus’ footsteps, in service to others

Clubs encourage student growth and learning outside the classroom. While we offer a diverse range of extracurricular activities, students can also initiate the formation of new clubs at La Salle.

Our hearts are guided by our faith. La Salle is faithful to the teachings of the Gospel and of the Catholic Church. We are inspired by our school’s patron, Saint John Baptist de La Salle, and we are committed to cultivating the faith of all La Salle Academy students.

Integral to the mission of the Office of Campus Ministry is community service. All of our students are required to complete 80 hours of service prior to graduation.

Available October - May, this popular program allows incoming freshmen and transfer students to experience a day in the life of a La Salle student. Future Cardinals will attend classes, meet teachers, and receive guidance from La Salle Ambassadors.

Available all year round, families are welcome to meet with a member of our Admissions Office, tour our school, and learn about our rich history in the East Village.
