Dear Fellow Largay Travel Team & Family members, I would like to take this opportunity to personally welcome you to the 2017 annual Largay Travel retreat and gathering here at Skytop Lodge in the beautiful Poconos Mountains. We are all very excited to have you as an integral part of our community, and are so grateful for the many contributions you have made to our growing, collective success. Our goal during this time together is to discover, learn, share, and refine the many technical and professional skills that will enable us to sustain and grow our respective businesses. Helen Nodland, CTC Director Professional Development Virtuoso Ltd. Helen’s travel industry experiences have run the gamut in the international leisure travel business as agent, expedition leader, tour director, and sales and marketing director positions. In November 2009, Helen took on a new challenge as a Director of Professional Development at Virtuoso. Her multi-faceted role marries her wide relationship and collaboration experience with her passions for professional development and being a voice for creative and constructive change in the travel industry. Helen lives high above Chicago.
Dr. Bob Joselyn Friday Afternoon Great Service from the Customer’s Side of the Looking Glass All too often we define great customer service from our perspective. All too often we confuse great product and destination knowledge with great customer service. All too often we don’t take the time to learn and understand what great customer service means from the customers’ perspective. All too often we think great customer service is more complicated than it really is. Parts of this session will be good reminders of things we know but too often get careless about. Part of this session will be a real eye opener. Sunday Morning Working On Your Business, Not Just In It Working in your business is defined as the day-to- day tasks that make businesses run smoothly. When you are working on your business, you are planning for long-term growth. You are coming up with strategies that will help your business expand and become more of what you want it to be. This is not an either or situation. The problem too many owner managers have is one of balance. Working in your business is often unambiguous and provides immediate gratification. Working on your business is often abstract, mentally challenging and uncertain in terms of outcomes, the benefits of which might be long-term. We will explore: 1. …the working on your business planning and strategic initiatives you should never avoid or put on the back burner. 2. …techniques for working on your business that even the busiest owner can find time to do. 3. …The mental and time draining that keep you from working on your business and how to deal with them.
