Our annual symposium will look a bit different this year as we zoom in on the life and legacy of Jovita Idár.

This day-long symposium will feature panels of experts exploring Jovita's impact on journalism, education, and how we understand the history of the Texas-Mexican border.

The symposium will be free to the public with advance registration - more information on how to register is coming soon!

Save the date for a Fiestas Patrias party at Market Square dedicated to Jovita Idár!

This celebration for the launch of the new Jovita Idár quarter will include kids' activities created by the Smithsonian Institute inside Centro de Artes, and music and dance at the outdoor stage featuring the debut of a folklórico dance inspired by Jovita Idár's life created by the Guadalupe Dance Company.
