Furthermore, they denounce the fact that immigrants remain handcuffed at the wrists, with waist chains and ankle shackles, while being transported by air. During the protest, participants held up signs with messages of support so that immigrants could see them while being bused to the planes. “We want the people on that bus to know that we stand with them,” said activist Joni Laney. “We want them to know that we see their suffering and are demanding justice.”

El sospechoso fue identificado como Khy’ric Mason, de 27 años, quien fue arrestado y enfrenta cargos de intento de asesinato en primer grado, secuestro, robo de propiedad y agresión doméstica. Según la Policía de Memphis, el incidente ocurrió en la cuadra 2000 de Shenandoah Drive, cuando Mason estaba dentro del vehículo de la víctima junto a ella y su hijo. The increase reflects the White House’s intensified immigration policy, which directed Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to expand operations with the goal of reaching approximately 2,000 arrests per day. As part of this strategy, the agency has extended its actions to new locations, including airports.
