Greetings to all. Summer 2022 is here. With it, Hurricane season. I encourage all to make sure that you prepare by developing a business and family plan. I pray that nothing comes our way and that we can enjoy a summer free from weather issues. There are many good, free resources available on-line including those published by FEMA at https://www.ready.gov/hurricanes.

As you make your family vacation plans ensure safety is always priority number 1. My prayers and thoughts also go out to the victims at the shooting in Uvalde, TX. I pray for the families of those 21 innocent individuals who lost their lives on this senseless act. I pray for our leaders in power to thoughtfully analyze the situation and take the proper measures to avoid re-occurrence. Thanks for supporting the 4th Annual National Day of Prayer at Sylvan Beach Depot on May 5th. A big congratulations to the La Porte High School on celebrating their award ceremony on May 10th. Thanks to all of you who supported. We would like to thank all of you who supported lemonade day on May 21st 2022. This activity was created with the intention to develop our youth on what it takes to create a successful business. Congratulations to HCA for the Vista location Ribbon Cutting on May 25th. We love to see the businesses grow and expand. We would also like to thank the City of La Porte for the Lunch and Learn celebrated on May 25th as it related to Process for Planning & Permitting at La Porte PD. There are some activities coming up that might be of interest. The first one is on July 12th State of the Precinct. There are sponsorship opportunities. Please contact Megan at the Chamber for more information. Lastly don’t forgert about our Fishing Tournament that will be celebrated in August 6th. The preparations are ongoing and we will need your support and sponsorship. I pray and hope for your continuous success. Please continue to seek for ways to get involved in the Chamber’s activities. We need to ensure that you are getting what your business needs from us. Please let us know and give us feedback on what you would like to see happening.
