FROM SNOW DAYS TO FLOOD DAYS Snow was never my favorite, but snow days were always special. School getting canceled, sipping on coco, and watching movies all day snuggled up in a blanket. It was glorious! In Colorado the kids pray all winter for a snow day. Here in Thailand kids are praying for a flood day! I naively imagined it being pretty similar. Some inconvenience, but basically an excuse to be cozy inside my home. However, I can now report that I will never again hope for a flood day! A cozy day inside quickly became scrambling for supplies and helplessly surveying damage. Then after a few days the rain stopped, but the water had nowhere to go. It doesn’t melt like snow. You can’t pile it up anywhere. You try to push it out, but there’s nowhere to put it. We are currently on day 5 and most of the city is still reeling. Yet despite all the chaos, God is still good. While this might have been my first flood, it was not ICS’s first rodeo. Leadership went into disaster relief mode. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such and well organized and dedicated group pull on their rainboots and get to work without hesitation. The school sheltered families, meals were cooked and delivered, and huge teams of volunteers assembled with trucks and supplies to help the 100+ struggling families in our neighborhood. Teachers, parents, and students have rallied together to pail water, squeegee, disinfect, move furniture, care for pets, and lend a hand as the body of Christ in any way we can. The cleanup is still ongoing, and we are praying the water drains soon!

Tum’s Update
As always things have been changing quickly. Long story short, Tum ended up not going to seminary because ICS told Natalie that she needed to go back to school for a teaching license...then they changed their minds..but Tum had already missed the enrollment deadline. Most of his time is currently devoted to Rak Chumchon (OMF) in the low-income communities, but he is also participating in a fitness as outreach ministry connected to Worldventure! Fit 12:2 started as an after-school gym ministry for ICS parents. It’s grown considerably as many non-Christian parents have come to faith through the relationships they have built at the gym. Fit 12:2 has asked Tum to join their team as they open a gym across the street in January 2027. In a couple of weeks Tum will start a personal trainer certification program to fully prepare him for this new unique ministry! He’s also been helping teach Thai to a missionary in southern Thailand.

Praises Flood recovery: for all those whose homes and businesses were affected. Please also pray that our car’s damages aren’t extensive. Visa extension: I was only given a 60day extension, so I have to go back to immigration on Oct. 22nd. Please pray I get a year extension without any hassle. Health: new school, new germs. Tum’s personal trainer course. Wisdom for Natalie as she works with students. Continued community as we still settle in.
