01 SAUNA
Location: Laurentian Forest/Bennett Lake, Sudbury
The Laurentian forest is a new forest that was regenerated a few decades ago. It is necessary to pay attention to nature and create a connection between the forest and the sauna and make the structure respond to nature.
The trees create an atmosphere that makes people wonder what is behind it, hiding in the woods, and bring out their curiosity and led people to walk closer.

EARLY CHILDHOOD LEARNING CENTRE
Location: Flour Mill, Sudbury
Having a connection with people and the environment is the first step in connecting with the world; communicating in a comfortable atmosphere and learning to talk to people and one’s self is necessary for childhood.
The most efficient way to make the connection to the site is to have open access inside and outside. The method of making the roof into a “skateboard playground” can provide levels and slopes for chidren to play. The roof edges extend to the ground, merging the building into the site.

First Floor: Infant and toddler suites
Having open spaces inside allows infants and toddlers to observe the actions of each age group. In this way, kids are encouraged to communicate and help each other.
Connection between first and second floor with two gentle slopes.
Second Floor: Pre-school suite
Glass windows and walls allow the sunlight to come in and create a wider view for pre-schoolers.

ECOLOGY EDUCATION CENTRE
Location: Lake Laurentian Concervation Area, Sudbury
Eyesight, hearing, taste, touch, and smell are the five senses. A good building can make us feel physically and mentally happy.
This is a project of designing an Ecology Education Centre in the conservation area for students and visitors to learn about nature.
As the conservation area collects hundreds of different species, plants, and aquatic life, it creates a perfect environment for people to learn about the forest and enjoy nature. Our senses help us perceive nature and the atmosphere. The great view, the sounds from birds, the fresh smell of grass, and the coldness of water all present the beauty of nature.

04 PORTAL
Design-build Group Project
Inflatable Play Environment Material: Tyvek
The purpose of the portal is to help children build up their gross motor, colour identification, and community skills.
The portal is built by connecting two sizes of bubble structures, a bigger general space and a smaller private space, so that it allows children to choose the spaces they feel comfortable with.

Smooth Rock Falls is a town that is surrounded by boreal forest which has very townthatis surrounded diverse vegetation.
Despite the small population, the people who lives here have enthusiasm for life. People that live in Smooth Rock Falls have mentioned they would like to have more places for people to host event, and they would like to see more lives. Therefore, my concept will be developed on building a garden inside the centre to bring more lives in.
