COVID Facility Guidelines

FACILITY AND PROGRAMMING GUIDELINES POLICY In order to keep all program participants safe, the following FACILITY guidelines will become effective July 1, 2020.

MAXIMUM CAPACITY The entry/front lobby/front desk area will allow a maximum of 8 patrons and 3 staff at any time. Maximum capacity of fitness facility will be 28 fitness members and no more than 3 staff members at any time. Maximum capacity of recreation facility will be 50 persons or fewer (including staff) as long as movement paths (hallways) allow for adequate social distancing. Program rooms will maintain a maximum of no more than 7. When used for Playskool, rooms 106 and 107 will maintain a maximum of 12 persons. The gymnastics gym will maintain a maximum of 12 persons.

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS Patrons, members, staff, and visitors must be fever free and COVID19 symptom free in order to enter the Eisenhower Center. Posters will be displayed at various locations within the building listing COVID19 symptoms for participant reference. Voluntary temperature screening, conducted by participant or participant parent, will be available.

ANTI-TRANSMISSION REQUIREMENTS Face coverings are required in the building for staff and the public (except children under age 2 and those with medical conditions that make breathing difficult with a face covering). Face coverings may only be removed during exercise or strenuous physical activity. Members of the public must provide their own face covering. Park district staff will wear face coverings at all times (except when in private offices). Public and staff must take the time to notice, read and comply with posted signage. Signage for social distancing, COVID19 information and symptoms, face coverings, hand washing, maximum capacity, and social distancing markers will be prominently posted within the building. Participants must wash or sanitize their hands prior to or upon entering the building. Public hand sanitizer stations are provided in the front lobby. Social distancing is required by all building inhabitants at all times, unless specifically exempted in policy. Children must be supervised by parents and remain with parents at all times. Children may not run about the building. An adequate number of uncovered (in order to eliminate common touchpoints) trash receptacles will be prominently located throughout the building. Public and staff are encouraged to use tissues to cover coughs or sneezing. Wall mounted facial tissue dispensers will be placed in the fitness center, lobbies, and program rooms. Congregating in one area is prohibited unless social distancing is guaranteed. A hand sanitizer station will be placed next to the elevator for use prior to touching elevator buttons. The vending machines, fitness coffee area, and building water fountains remain closed. The main gym remains closed except for organized park district programs or approved rentals. Building windows will be opened, when possible and weather permitting, in order to provide fresh air. All building HVAC units will be equipped with economizers. Economizers will be open at all times to provide fresh air circulation. All bathroom facilities will be disinfected by staff once per hour. Shower areas will be scrubbed and disinfected twice per day. Bathroom supplies will be checked and restocked, if necessary, every hour. The indoor pool, whirlpools (when opened), steam rooms (when opened) and sauna (when opened) will be sanitized twice per week. Custodial staff will disinfect heavily used areas such as door handles, doors, hand rails, public furniture once every two hours. Traffic patterns in the recreation facility will limit large groups and will allow for social distancing: Persons walking to the recreation main restrooms and rooms 107, 106, 105, and 104 will walk through the north/south hallway to the main recreation hallway. Persons walking to the small recreation bathrooms, rooms 103, 102, 101, and gymnastics gym will travel through the gym to the viewing room and out to the main recreation hallway. Persons walking to the multi-purpose room or administrative offices will travel through the gym to the west area of the building. The two sets of double doors in the main recreation hallway will remain closed to avoid mingling of traffic. Members of the public visiting the fitness facility must remain in the fitness center and program participants must remain in their program location as much as possible to avoid unnecessary mingling in public movement areas (hallways). In order to eliminate common touchpoints, doors will remain propped open to avoid touching of door handles and doors. Furniture will be placed for social distancing and may not be moved. Custodial staff will disinfect furniture every two hours. Cloth furniture will be removed. Programs will be held in program rooms containing handwashing facilities and hand sanitizer pumps. If possible, programs may be moved outdoors. Program participants will be assigned program supplies for their dedicated use for the duration of the program. No sharing of supplies allowed. Fitness classes (multi-purpose room) will be provided spray disinfectant and paper towels to disinfect fitness equipment used.

LACK OF COMPLIANCE Face coverings are required in order to enter the building and must be worn while travelling throughout the building. Social distancing is required at all times – stay at least 6 feet from others. Public must take the time to notice, read and comply with posted signage. Persons refusing to follow the rules as stated, as depicted on signage, as well as rules of conduct already established, will be asked to leave the building or may be removed from a program without refund.
