LANEY RODGERS
INTERIOR DESIGNER | MFA STUDENT Hi, I’m Laney! I currently reside in Manhattan, but I was born and raised on Long Island in Northport, NY. I grew up with a creative childhood, expressing myself in any way I could. Despite my deep-rooted passion for art and design, I also hold a strong interest in STEM and education. This dual passion led me to land on an undergraduate degree in Mathematics while appreciating my creative side through various personal hobbies. Now, I am eager to immerse myself fully in the world of interior design, while in process of my professional education that will give me with the theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and industry insights to excel in this field. My educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Statistics with a minor in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from the University of Maryland. While my major developed my analytical skills, my minor allowed me to explore the creative and practical aspects of design and entrepreneurship, reinforcing my desire to integrate these disciplines. As a designer, I intend to ground my decisions in actual user behavior and data, using research to guide more thoughtful, effective, and human-centered solutions.

My personal and work experience spans graphic design, event decorating, room transformations, allowing me to bring a unique blend of creativity, technical precision, and attention to detail into every project. I am committed to refining my expertise to create innovative and functional spaces that enhance the way people live, work, and interact with their environment. I am a determined, hard-working Interior Design MFA-1 student at the New York School of Interior Design (NYSID). The opportunity to pursue an MFA in Interior Design at NYSID is a dream come true, providing me with the platform to further develop my skills and provide me with an opportunity to continue my education in a new rewarding field. As I continue to learn each day, I strive to become more immersed in the world of design and innovative practices.

CIRCULATION
NORTH SECTION Vertical circulation is intentionally emphasized throughout the space, with the stair drawing visitors in from the moment they enter. Movement upward becomes part of the narrative, guiding guests through each space and ultimately leading them to the final destination of the museum experience. To fully engage with the story, visitors naturally pass through and encounter all product displays along the way.

ENTRY PERSPECTIVE
LARGE JEWELRY DISPLAY
This area is less for shopping, and more for visual interest. Largescale pieces of jewelry allow visitors to appreciate details, carving, and materiality at a much larger scale. The design choices in this space tie back to the materiality concept and highlights how David green onyx

This area offers an immersive experience that brings the brand’s history and artistry to life. Through its experience, jewel tones, and accent ceiling, the space is designed to create a lasting impression - inviting visitors to connect emotionally with the brand and encouraging them to return long term.
MUSEUM PERSPECTIVE
This space is dedicated to wedding jewelry and higher-value, investment pieces. It includes private consultation areas designed to feel intimate and personal. The environment supports meaningful, one-onone interactions in a refined and comfortable setting.

statements to provide a clear view of how resources are managed. In 2023, 87% of MSF-USA’s budget went directly toward medical humanitarian programs, reflecting their commitment to accountability and openness. This transparency builds trust with both donors and the communities they serve. In 2024, MSF operated in over 75 countries worldwide, delivering medical care and emergency aid regardless of borders, politics, or background.

Wonder & Wander
EARLY AGES
CHILDREN’S LIBRARY
Wonder and Wander is a children’s library designed to challenge the conventional idea that bright, saturated primary colors are the most effective choice for children’s spaces. Instead, the design embraces a palette of muted primary tones, including softened reds, blues, and yellows, to create an environment that is imaginative, playful, and engaging without feeling overstimulating. The space highlights subtle curves, soft forms, and a variety of areas that encourage exploration and discovery. Reading nooks, storytelling areas, and interactive spaces are integrated throughout, creating a library that feels nurturing, exploratory, and child centered.

EARLY AGES The kids’ area is designed for toddlers and young children, with majority face out book displays, interactive toys, and low seating that make books and activities easy to access. Soft carpeting creates an open, flexible zone where children can read, play, gather, and explore comfortably. An abstract centerpiece of suspended acoustical panels helps absorb sound and reduce noise in high traffic areas.

04. BREAST CANCER CENTER SPRING 2026 LOCATION: SAN DIEGO, CA SQUARE FOOTAGE: 5650 FT^2 MFA-1 - STUDIO IV INSTRUCTOR: FRANCISCO DE LEON
The space is located on the coast of San Diego, CA. San Diego’s mild climate, access to natural light, and strong healthcare infrastructure make it an ideal location for a breast cancer treatment center.
The design is inspired by the form of the breast cancer ribbon, using its continuous curves to shape the plan, elevation, and guide circulation. The geometry creates a clear, intuitive path through the facility while softening the clinical experience.

The reception and waiting area is anchored by a dual height circular desk beneath a large skylight, where suspended ribbon-like decor in the shape of a pink awareness ribbon creates a central visual feature. Custom Infusion Bay dividers were not only designed to create privacy and separation, but also to tie back into the core concept of curved forms. The infusion bays are designed for patients receiving regular, ongoing treatments, with two private rooms nearby to support different levels of comfort and privacy. Secluded from main circulation, the zone includes ocean views, access to outdoor space before or after treatment, and a nurses’ station with storage along the wall.

LINAC VAULT The linear accelerator suite houses the machine used for targeted radiation treatment. Enclosed by 3 foot thick reinforced concrete walls for radiation shielding, the suite rethinks the typical below grade model by bringing treatment above ground to create a more humane experience with access to daylight and exterior views.
The mammography room includes a breast imaging unit with an adjacent technologist control area, along with storage, countertop space, and a work surface to support clinical workflow. Lead shielded walls, dimmable lighting, and a mechanical blackout shade provide the privacy, protection, and environmental control needed for imaging.
