Editor’s Letter

Sin duda, los paisajes nos enseñan una gama infinita de colores, están presentes en todos los lugares que visitamos. Podemos estar sentados en una terraza observando un paisaje y ser testigos de cómo al transcurrir el tiempo, van cambiando de tonalidades el cielo, los árboles y el suelo, brindándonos diferentes paisajes según la hora del día.

Se sabe que los colores nos transmiten emociones y pueden afectar nuestro estado de ánimo, por lo que hay paisajes en donde nos sentimos en paz, en calma, en alerta o felices.

Como creadores de lugares es importante que hagamos el uso correcto del color, ya sea para acentuar un sendero, crear un estado de ánimo en un espacio, atraer a la fauna o resaltar el acceso a un lugar mediante un árbol con f loración llamativa, como es la especie Tabebuia rosea.

En esta edición te invitamos a que conozcas: la teoría, principios de diseño y esquemas del color; cómo utilizar el color en proyectos de arquitectura de paisaje y el significado del color en los animales. ¡Llenemos nuestros espacios de color mediante árboles y otros elementos naturales!

Without a doubt, landscapes teach us an infinite range of colors, they are present in all the places we visit. We can be sitting on a terrace observing a landscape and witness how as time passes, the sky, trees and the ground change colors, giving us different landscapes according to the time of the day. Colors are known to convey emotions and can affect our mood, so there are landscapes where we feel peaceful, calm, alert or happy. As creators of places it is important that we make the correct use of color, whether to accentuate a path, create a mood in a space, attract fauna or highlight the access to a place through a striking f lowering tree, such as the species Tabebuia rosea.

In this edition we invite you to know: the theory, design principles and color schemes; how to use color in landscape architecture projects and the meaning of color in animals. Let's fill our spaces with color with trees and other natural elements!

El proyecto diseñado por Bona fide taller en el borde urbano de la población de Les Coves de Vinromà, en Castellón (España), es el resultado de un concurso de ideas promovido por el sector cerámico de la región.

The pavement is executed with a block formed from the reuse of ceramic stock of low commercial value. The warm striped texture of the ceramic, together with the different applications of stone paving and rusted steel fittings, integrate the walkway into the site.

The project developed by Bona fide taller in the urban edge of the small town of Les Coves de Vinromà, in Castellón (Spain), is the result of a competition promoted by the ceramic industry of the region.

El Memorial Mundial a la Pandemia será una gran escultura instalada en la costa de Montevideo, en Uruguay. Tiene una forma simple y contundente, un círculo interrumpido por una grieta, que da acceso a un gran espacio público. Esa grieta representa algo que se rompió, como lo que pasó en 2020 en el mundo entero. Una larga pasarela peatonal se extenderá desde el paseo marítimo hasta la plataforma principal. La explanada es un espacio de 40 metros de diámetro en forma de anillo, y en el centro se encontrará un agujero de 10 metros de ancho por donde aflorará la naturaleza.

Las hembras no tienen colas largas, pero comparten el color azul, verde, rojo y blanco de sus compañeros. Los colores de los machos tienden a ser más brillantes.

Considered by many among the most beautiful birds of the world. During mating season, male quetzals grow twin tail feathers that form an amazing train up to three feet (one meter) long. Recientemente regresé de una escabullida que hice a Baja California Sur. Estuve por primera vez en tres maravillosos lugares de la república mexicana, que, aunque me hubieran contado de ellos, no me los hubiese imaginado jamás. El haber estado allá estimuló todos mis sentidos a la misma vez, y eso fue muy enriquecedor.

Mi primera parada fue en San José del Cabo que me recibió de una forma sorprendentemente inesperada, me sentí en un territorio completamente mágico; anteriormente había estado en ciudades desérticas maravillosas, pero esto fue diferente, Los Cabos me dio una sensación refrescante y vigorosa que otros lugares del desierto no me habían hecho sentir hasta ahora. No pasó desapercibido el hermoso contraste del paisaje que estaba viendo por primera vez, fue desconcertante, por un lado, puedes observar el enorme océano pacífico y al otro lado se pueden observar las dunas del desierto

Al final del viaje me escapé a La Paz, donde exploré distintos escenarios naturales y fue la experiencia más alucinante que pude haber tenido.

En el camino hacia la isla Espíritu Santo me tope con un espectáculo de texturas y colores que jamás había visto en conjunto, verdes, grises, negros, índigos, turquesas, blancos, toda la variedad que pude denotar que provenían de los animales y el territorio en el que paseaba, a la vez eran iluminados por los cobres y dorados de los rayos solares que se ref lejaban sobre las superficies, y para cerrar con broche de oro una exquisita gama de naranjas intensos que fueron cambiando conforme se
